I was talking to my local newsagent today, he’s a really cheerful Asian guy. He said “ I don’t understand you Brits, the Israelis can murder as many children as they like and nothing happens. But when 200 cats and dogs were deemed to be at risk in Afghanistan the guy who organised the rescue flight is looked upon as an hero. “ “ Are Palestinian children worth less than cats and dogs ? “

It looks to me like in the eyes of the British government, and some of the Labour Party, the answer is - “ Yes they are “.

It looks to me like in the eyes of the British government, and some of the Labour Party, the answer is - “ Yes they are “.

The problem is I think that Palestinians are thought of as lower than dogs in most of the Arab world, never mind the rest of the world.

This is why this argument around “this is the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust” is a fundamentally racist statement - it was horrendous, but 1200/1300 dead is meted out to the Gazans after every instance of Israel “mowing the grass”. To believe it demands a special response clearly implies the one type of life is higher than the other.
