It's vital that we isolate all the rogue nations that support the Israeli genocide of the Palestinians. And if the UK keeps up its support then I consider the UK no better.

So the Americans have to rely on blackmail in order to supply the genocide effort? You sure paint a bleak picture of America's soul.

Well the Americans stopped supplying the Nazis, perhaps they'll eventually stop supplying this genocidal regime too.

Biden has a problem, which is that he has handcuffed himself to the Israelis. Small wonder, too. The House resolution of support passed 412-10, with the usual dissidents against. The Senate resolution passed 97-0. What the people in Washington do not yet understand, because they live and work inside the Beltway, is that Israel-Palestine has become deeply controversial. It was just on the back burner for a good long while as that took place, so they don't yet know.

According to Gallup, Biden is down four points of approval rating with independents and eleven points with Democrats. I think the pressure will have to mount at a higher level, both in the Senate and in the poll numbers, before Biden will have an attack of conscience. That's probably stupid, in the sense that I don't think Biden will easily get the lost approval rating (or votes) back. It's also how he has done things throughout his life in public service, and it worked up until now all the way to the Oval Office, so I suspect he will have a hard time seeing that it won't work in this case.

We've been relying on blackmail the entire time. If you ask me, the only reason much of Western Europe hasn't already broken with the US on this one is the Russia problem. And, yes, if you want the flow of arms to Israel to stop, that has to occur at the point of origin.

Understand who we, as Americans, are. Those of us old enough to remember the Cold War were trained to see the world the way George H. W. Bush did. "This is a battle of good versus evil, right and wrong." We saw that same thinking from W. in the Axis of Evil speech. Now, the people who fought the Germans learned from that fight to come together on foreign and domestic policy. There were bigger fish to fry.

Remove the external enemy, and people started seeing Washington that way, which is a major cause of our present fix. You can't move the Republicans on abortion any more than you can move the Democrats on human rights, so there is no common ground to be had.

I doubt it tbh. Iran has gone on about red lines and wiping Israel off the face of the earth, but know that they wouldn’t stand a chance in a war, Egypt is determined to keep out of it, Syria has enough problems and Jordan isn’t really interested in taking in millions of West Bank refugees. Hezbollah being paid for by Iran will probably do something, but because Israel have shown they are not going to take any crap this time will be wary……is my take on things…..
