Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

I can't imagine this going on much longer without a massive reaction from other actors in the region.

The west might want to stand by and allow ethnic cleansing and massacres for the next few weeks or months but other forces in the Middle East don't.

It will be them plus rest of the world, probably including the EU, that will force a ceasefire. Netanyahu can cosplay King David all he wants but what they are doing and openly saying is wiping out what little support they had.

Because of him Israel will be for a generation a state where no one in their right mind would want to live in. The ramifications will last for years with terrorist attacks in Israel and on Israeli assets everywhere around the world.

It will be off the charts more serious than Israel - it's military, government and citizenry - has ever faced. And they brought it on themselves with their blood lust for revenge.

Special meeting of UN Security Council under way - no doubt US at least and possibly UK will veto - the sacking of that MP as a Ministerial aide for what seemed a reasonable letter to the PM seeking a ceasefire is disturbing.

'Blessed are the peacemakers" - hmmm

The Irish have every right to stop their country being used as a pit stop for the instruments of genocide.

As should the British if any go through the UK.

And shame for any American who thinks it fine to send them in the first place.

The countries involved in the supply and logistics of Israel's weapons are complicit in the genocide of Palestine.
Be realistic. You could get every country in the world between the US and Israel to reject the use of their airports for the shipments, and you would find that the United States still has a navy. They would just sail the weapons right into Tel Aviv. All you would accomplish is slow down the process, and cost the US a little money. The Irish acting alone, which is all you will get, will accomplish far less.

If you ask the governments of Europe to choose between the NATO umbrella and letting the US do as it pleases, with Russian boots on the ground in Ukraine as we speak, that's an easy call. The Irish can throw a hissy because they don't need the umbrella. If Russia gets as far as London, the war and the Irish are already lost.

Let's not take our eye off the ball here. There are kids dying and starving in Gaza as we speak. We can discuss things like arms shipments later, when there isn't an urgent crisis on our hands. Keep the pressure where it belongs. Symbolic points on the board are a distraction we don't need.
