Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

So like I tried to tell you yesterday...you shouldnt jump the gun but 90% of you eagerly did. That hospital with "500 casualties" was palestinian propaganda. Widely recognised now that it most likely was Hamas missile.

Your telling us not to jump the gun while claiming it was Hamas with about as much evidence as we have. Take your own advice.

I believe it was Israel but if it comes out that it was a faulty Hamas record, ill accept I was wrong. I am not sittimg here like you pretending to know exactly who it was.

'How do you think the west benefits in the current climate from an escalation and war in the middle east'?

It's a typical western centric view of the world, 'how can we benefit,' from situations. Events are looked at as a benefit and loss analysis, for the west.

Biden has gone to occupied Palestine to give the go ahead for an invasion of Gaza, an escalation in the war. Which according to you benefits, 'Russia and Iran'.

The US Ambassador to the UN vetoed a humanitarian resolution, which will lead to an escalation of the war. Which according to you benefits, 'Russia and Iran'.

Seeing that Biden and the ambassador acts have benefited sworn enemies of the US. Surely Biden be impeached and tried with actions that 'benefit Russia and Iran'.

An escalation benefits no one and the UN security council tried on for a ceasefire and humanitarian aid. But was voted against by the US, the UK, France and Japan. A positive vote may have stopped the hospital bombing. The hospital bombing will lead to an escalation.

Today's humanitarian vote in the UN was vetoed by the US, this will lead to an escalation of the war.
It's not like you to completely miss the point macca is it!

I was replying to a post that suggested that the West is looking for an opportune war because of a supposed coming financial collapse. I don't believe this is correct and asked why we would be looking for escalation i.e. how would that benefit us? You obviously didn't read the post or have ignored it.

It is clear from your ramblings in the Ukraine thread that you have some warped love for Russian war crimes and a weird hatred of Ukrainians, but to be clear, just in case it went over your head... Opening another war front that would require Western support would benefit Putin if we have to direct support away from Ukraine. Simple as that.

Putin is a war criminal and his regime will and should be treated as such. Having him/his people sit on the SC is a disgrace given the daily war crimes and atrocities that they are committing against civilians in Ukraine. Russia will be utilising anything to try and paint itself as a force for good and the West for bad. In light of yesterday's horror it is worth noting that Russia has been targeting hospitals in Ukraine from the off - remember them blowing a maternity hospital up? It is a tactic they use to strike terror into civilian populations, but go ahead, keep cheering them on.

Your hero's actions in Syria are the same tactic they are putting upon Ukrainians.

The International Red Cross and other members of the aid community had communicated the coordinates of the hospitals to make sure they would be left alone.

But instead the Russians used those very coordinates to bomb them. So after 2019 the aid community had to stop doing that.

Government telling citizens to get out. Expecting Hezbollah to open up northern attack. Entirely different and much more dangerous times ahead if that happens.

According to a few reports, they've extended the evacuation zone bordering the Lebanon border to 5km, so they're potentially looking at adding a buffer.

There'll be enemies of Israel who may be thinking it'll be a perfect time to take advantage of Israel's focus on Gaza, so it could spiral very, very quickly.

Equally, there'll be those in Israel who are deranged enough to believe they'll be able to take advantage of the situation, with the IDF heavily mobilising.

They've fought wars on two front beforehand, which means they'll probably believe they can do it again - throw everything they've got into getting their job done.

Either way, I can only see this being a long, costly and bloody war for all sides, with no real winners and a destabilised region for a decade or so.

The Yanks look as if they're concerned.

Good on him. Takes guts. Can only imagine the pressure he's under to condemn Israel but just focuses on the people who matter, the innocent people

The trouble with that is he doesn't lay the same where it needs to be laid.

Sat on the fence.

I think we need to appreciate who he is, one of the biggest names in the Arab world and making the statement is already showing bravery. He is using his platform for good and we should always appreciate that

The fact that he's focusing on the people and not distracting from the crisis by having the conversation about blame again is good imo as the message would get hijacked and turned into a fight on either side. Then the headlines focus on 'Salah attacks Israel'. Right now the people of Gaza need aid and a ceasefire.
