Biden is now between a rock and a hard place. Do you:

a) Advance America's global interests, which only a tiny minority of Americans understand, by breaking with Israel on this before things get worse. This spots Trump Florida, and Blinken probably resigns on the spot, but it avoids the risk of a catastrophic foreign policy failure that loses the election before it even begins.
b) Chase the Florida votes, reasoning that a Trump reelection will do far more harm to American interests, and blame the Arabs for increased fuel prices.

This is not an easy practical politics call.

I think it is easier than that, you just distinguish between Bibi and Israel - let the likes of Gantz and Lapid know that Bibi has to go, and that full US support will resume when they are winding this back in and blaming absolutely everything on Bibi. He then lets them go after the Hamas leadership abroad whilst the region comes up with a scheme for the longer term peace.

Trump was (IIRC) the first senior US political figure to attack Bibi and Gallant, so I can't really see defending them and throwing the US position in the region (and further afield) work for Biden under any circumstances.

Dave 90% of the lads and lasses on there will just wanting to get home to see their kids or get pished. They will 100% be operating under an ROE and will be offering any humanitarian aid they are allowed. Don’t tar the sailors as we should be with the politicians. The officers are fair enough.
