Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

The apologist outside Jewish people enjoy the bloodshed it feeds into their right wing agenda and narrative. Simple measure is applied as they always ask condone what Hama's did this time or last... Which of course is duly and rightly done, but wont get them ever condoning Israel state response or actions on Gaza civilian.

And If I were Biden I’d keep my security detail very very close and not assume that Netanyahu would cry genuine tears if the US President befell an accident “attributable” to Hamas. Netanyahu is a gangster and he thinks with gangster logic.

I’d imagine it’s an absolute nightmare for the Secret Service to prepare for this trip

This is written by a congressman who has been there, and done that, when it comes to counterinsurgency. It's very sensible advice, and is hopefully of the sort Scholz and Biden plan to dispense.

I wonder why our media doesn't care as much when these exact things happen in places like Africa??

276 children kidnapped in Nigeria. 9 Years later 98 still missing...

156 civilians massacred by army in Burkina Faso this year..

Strange how our News broadcasters quickly forget these events...
We have no investment in those places. African-American observers are often quick to cry 'racism' in reply, forgetting that we regularly turn a blind eye to such things in Central and South America, Southeast Asia and the Pacific as well. If people from those countries were dumping money into our political processes, had influence in our media and comprised a sizable voting constituency, we would talk about those things. Since they don't, our politicians don't much care and our media focuses on Israel and what happens in and around NATO countries, as those are the events that could draw us into a war.

If the IDF had massacred and kidnapped even more Palestinians it would not get early the coverage that the hamas attacks received

Apart from the 760,000 or so already in Jordan from Syria, Yemen etc.

Stupid fascist. Golding, not you, pal.
The messaging is incredibly poor, though I'll be keen to see the full interview, though it appears that this may be the core narrative given the previous statements.

You'd hope that a more conciliatory tone could be found at such a time.

A good summary of what has led us to this abyss, from MI6:

Turns out we were observing the calm before the storm. It's like when your toddler gets real quiet, all of a sudden. You know they're up to something big that they know they'll burn for, and it's time to find out what before they make matters worse.

We had a similar experience in the 1990s after the World Trade Center bombing. We observed domestic terrorism like Oklahoma City and Columbine, focused on events in the former Yugoslavia and were too busy hounding Richard Jewell to an early grave for what happened in Atlanta to spare much of a thought about the possibility that someone might come back with a better plan.

That would be my take. It‘s Israel’s problem, Hamas and the Palestinians, so let them deal with it.….
I would say it's more, "If we take Gazan refugees, no amount of international pressure will ever convince the Israelis to let them back in. We're not doing that, because it's exactly what the Israelis want."

I've been thinking about this.

From what we knew, the IDF were due to 'go in' last weekend. The fact they have held off suggests they've been stopped.

My guess is the US have told them to hold back to gauge the neighbouring countries.

I think as you said, there are a few neighbours that wont be very happy if Israel invade Gaza.

The fact that Biden is on his way there tomorrow suggests its quite serious now.

I think if they do invade Gaza then like you say, Hezbollah, Yemen, Jordan, Syria etc may well all have something to say about it..
The moves now by the US are very welcome. They are akin to stepping out into the yard and telling your guard dog to stop biting the neighbors. The guard dog is now growling and snarling but feeling a little confused on how to progress with ongoing belligerence which at the very least is creating a chink of breathing space where some hope may be injected into this whole sorry situation. And some of us in the West who have rejected the right wing ghoulish narrative of more blood at any cost have played a small part in this change of direction and injected some moral sensibility.
