Gaza was controlled by Egypt from 1948-67, but unlike Sinai, it was never considered Egyptian territory. It wasn't a matter of taking it "back".

I honestly can't see the issue with condemning Hamas for their horrific attacks and then also condemning Israel for their response.

Israel turned off running water and fuel supplies to a couple of million people and then told them all to move. This in one of the most densely populated areas of the world.

How on earth do they imagine it will end? I saw footage on the news of a man carrying his lifeless 5 year old daughter wrapped in a white sheet. What do you expect the response of civilians who have to suffer that to be? I would find it hard not to join whatever group I could to seek revenge.

Showing support for the civilians of Palestine is not supporting Hamas and it's not antisemitic.

But it's turned and used as justification when the martyrs created by these actions carry out revenge attacks.
The situation is like top trumps. When you look at the Palestinian issue and 'who threw the first punch' the history of Israel as a 'nation' from biblical times is brought up, when the reality is it should go no further than the Balfour Treaty.

I’d imagine that was built using US foreign aid since Egypt, Jordan and Israel are historically among the largest recipients of US foreign aid. Israel would struggle to survive without leaching from its “Friends”

Zelensky, Britain, the yanks and the EU have been shown for what they are over this Israeli siege and bombardment...hypocrites of the worst kind. Backing a rogue state in its quest to bomb Gaza into the stone age and ethnically cleanse the place.

It's over for them as credible voices on Ukraine and any other place they meddle in.

It points to the disingenuous insincere morality when you apply the contrasting approach's to the two situations that draw very similar profiles, maybe even inherent institutional discrimination/racism.

Also - what will happen with the inevitable refugee crisis, are we going to see our political institutions open up all our borders to the people of Gaza as we did for the people of Ukraine.
