It's all too easy to go back just a century and say look at what's been going on.. the history of this part of the world is long and bloody and far more complex than what a few modern maps can show.

The lands of the area around Jerusalem have changed hands multiple times due to Abrahamic religous beliefs and you could say this is just that latest episode. It is not just an area though, it is the spiritual hub to those with devout beliefs.

Hopefully the poor pepole caught in what must a living hell in Gaza can be protected ASAP but that nutter Bibi, the mullahs and Putin will make it difficult. It is heartbreaking.
