The thing you need to bear in mind with Suarez: one swallow doesn't make a summer. Sure he is on a bit of a run at the moment, has a great record against teams in the bottom half, but before he was linked with Arsenal I don't think the footballing world was really aware of him. Don't get me wrong I remember all the racism, the biting, the diving but you just zone out for the rest don't you?

I do think he's come on leaps and bounds since the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid came knocking, he's really raised his game now playing in the shop window. I think it's just the extra motivation a big club can give you, all top players need it, must be stagnating for Suarez being at Liverpool as it was for Torres.

In fact ill tell you who he reminds me of, Craig Bellamy - bit of an attitude, problems with discipline, the star of their country, both made a name for themselves in Micky mouse leagues and both guarantee you goals against that bottom 10. Both wasted years rotting at Liverpool. It's sad actually, I think if he'd have been given a fair chance Bellamy could have been just as good.

In regards to negredo, theirs no doubt he is a quality player and possibly the signing of the summer but with the city team around him, it does make it alot easier. Who was the last striker who started for city who didn't score ?!

Hardly, i understand where you are coming from but i highly disagree. Suárez, is supposedly great with the fans, and the rest of team (unbelievably), despite being a dog on the field with his biting and racism, the difference is Suarez is a world class player, easily in the top 5 players in the world, undoubtedly. All you heard about Bellamy were bad stories, with his team mates (Riise, Shearer, Souness etc), and even with the fans and general public, i feel that he's seen what Joey Barton has (which is arguably little, but he's almost one of the most famous footballers in the country thanks to his twitter account, and his controversial football opinions) and has tried to mimic being this 'gentleman', and it's quite embarrassing, fail play to the lad for all his charity work, but he's just a dog, he would never of reached Suarez potential purely because his attitude stinks.
Suarez on the otherhand is a model athlete. I hate him, but he just runs, and runs and runs himself into the ground every week, and he's everywhere on the pitch, never giving up, I'd take him at Everton in a heartbeat.

I'd agree that he's playing for a move, lets face it if Barca or Real come in for him, he isn't going to say no, is he? The only thing is Liverpool are guaranteed to win now, if they finish top 4 this season, Suarez stays, and they get mountains of CL money, if Suarez then leaves, they're guaranteed £100m imho, he may be hard to replace, but £100m is a lot of money.

As for Suarez record against the bottom half, He's still scored 3 goals in games against the top 7, but more importantly has 7 assists against them (inc. Newcastle), so to dismiss him, would be Naive. He's a top class player, as painful as it is to say.

So Everton winning this week is imperative, and the week after is also crucial, against that lot.

Sorry for sound pro Liverpool here

If I recall he has scored against the big clubs quite a bit, seem to remember him scoring against chelsea and united away, not to mention against us at Wembley.

I remember when Ronaldo was at United he was accused of going missing in big games, as was Messi for a short period of time. One or two goals against the 'Bigger' sides soon put to bed that argument, as it will inevitably for Suarez.

The league isn't about 3 or 4 big games either, it's based on how well you do over the entire season. Europe may well be different, but I fail to see any reason why he wouldn't be a success in the Champions league.

Come on, he's genuine world class, I'd say the best striker in this league by some margin.

There's no doubting Suarez's brilliance but I'm expecting him to struggle against us to the point of frustration next week as we go into the game ABOVE them on points.

They simply WON'T like being outplayed on their own pitch and they will implode ALA Bruce Grobelar bashing his own players. We're talking meltdown.

Finally some sense in here...kudos

He reminds me a lot of le tissier, tbf. That's a great comparison.

Fine players but there's a reason they're not at clubs regularly in europe.

In terms of drive, he's the opposite of Le Tissier, mate. Suarez is relentless whilst Le Tis was a lazy get who banged some great passes around the pitch and bagged a great goal every few games.

To me, Suarez is clearly world class and yet it is true that he hasn't been scoring against Liverpool's direct rivals this season, us excepted.

Who are our direct rivals for the 4th spot? You and Spurs....he scored against Everton and scored 2 and assisted 3 other in the game against Spurs at WHL. So again do some research before coming up with such statements

The Spurs game was clearly a one off fluke.
