Well the stats show Howard is so terrible.
Below are the recorded Shots vs Goals converted for each game. 50 shots on goal with 21 goals. about 58% save percentage. 42% of the time Howard gives up the goal. Fire him.

Stats Don't give us the full story, let's take a couple of instances, one of the 6 versus Chelsea was an OG so that takes one of the goals from the shots on target. West Ham, couldn't do anything about a cruel deflection.

Plus, he was certainly not at fault for most of the shots on target just like most of the keepers in the league.

I mean how many of those goals were because of defensive errors that led to an easy shot that he could do nothing with.

We could do better with a bit of money and we could easily do a lot worse.

so last season when Howard had a really good year you still wanted rid
I think that's why he said he thought he turned it around.

Is it also a coincidence the season Howard was good we where good.

A keeper is as important as a striker. I hope he makes us money in shirt sales in the US.

Sorry no. By 'thought he'd turned it around' I meant last season and the World Cup. But I didn't make it clear. Sorry.

I think the competition thing is very valid though. Robles was competition last season, Howard did well. Robles is no competition now, Howard isn't doing well.
It was clear enough

I wonder...

Too bad there isnt a website that keeps track of defensive errors of EPL teams/players. That would really tell the story.

Here's a little rough thing mate ive just compiled.
Leicester away
1st goal : Distin fault who hoofs it straight against striker who then slots
2nd goal : Jags tackle deflects ball to striker. Howard goes down a bit too quick but more about lucky bounce.

Arsenal Home
1st goal : McCarthy and Coleman poor defending for a tap in 1 yard out.
2nd goal : Distin not jumping gets out jumped for equaliser

Chelsea Home :
1st goal : Jags tries to play offside goes wrong.
2nd goal : Baines tries to play offside goes wrong
Howard should be sent off for handling the ball just outside of box but linesman doesn't give it.
3rd goal : Coleman og near post but not Howard fault
4th goal : Matric goal with poor closing down from Distin
5th goal : Poor defending from Baines
6th goal : Besic back heel goes wrong

West Brom : clean sheet
Wolfsberg : best performance from Howard do far
Crystal Palace : 1st goal Howard hesitates and penalty is given
2nd goal he is criminally out jumped by Campbell
3rd goal similar to Leicester goal as he dives wrong way but not to blame.

Swansea away 3-0
First goal poor effort from Howard to keep shot out
2nd goal howler from Distin
3rd goal poor effort from Howard to keep shot out

Liverpool away :
1st goal : imo poor positioning and should have saved

Krasnodar away : solid performance from Howard and goal was poor marking from Jags and Hibbert not tucking in and covering

Man Utd away :
1st goal : good finish from Di Maria
2nd goal : Poor clearance from Howard starts a poor chain of events where we concede. Not totally to blame but partly to blame.

Aston Villa and Lille to good solid performances

Burnley away : Poor pass from Lukaku leads to Burnley goal

Swansea : clean sheet and Lille clean sheet 2 solid performances

Sunderland : Poor line up of wall I thought and should have saved it. Also nearly got himself sent off by diving on ball when he should have hoofed it.

West ham : good performance and nothing he could do with o.g from Jags

Wolfsburg : good solid display and clean sheet

Spurs away :

1st goal poor parry out
2nd goal dives a little too early for my liking as the ball hits him centrally if he stands up.

So the names that are mentioned the most are Distin early season along with Jags and Howard.

People will have different opinions, the above is just my opinion on the foals conceded and who has played a major part in the mistakes.

H
I say stick with him, you can't blame the second goal on him as he did not know what Lennon was going to do, it was not like it was a race between him and the striker. If he came out early and Lennon shot he would have been in the wrong position, as it was it was a superbly weighted ball and he had to quickly cover his near post (as any keeper is told to do) and Soldado took it well.

The first one we can attribute blame to but not all of it, who let Kane an easy run towards the box and no-one came in with a decent attempt at a block and Coleman should have been more alive to Eriksons position.

Palace is the only game where Howard has had a true howler this season, in my memory anyway. I stand here to be corrected.

Howlers - Man Utd , should have kicked ball out, Liverpool should have saved free kick! ditto Sunderland , Spurs first and covered himself in little glory with second as instead of standing up as long as possible he practically dived out of the way. That's just this season, many more over the years. He is a weak link.

He did cost us points at Spurs, it bought them into the game IMO, however has he costs us any other points this season? I dont think so with possible exception of Anfield. But even then that was more down to giving away a stupid free kick and giving Liverpool the only chance they were going to get.
He is no more of a weak link than the rest of the squad who have all had off days, this season there has been a large amount of individual errors all over the park.

Bang on...and what's more, nearly every bad individual error has resulted in a goal. It was a miracle that Soldado didn't score two...but then again, we are talking about Soladado lol

Shoulda, Woulda and Coulda can play in goal instead.

That or the GoalieBot 3200 : The Perfect Goalkeeper until it's batteries get low in any case.
