Is it time for us to replace Howard?

Aye, I agree with you, just trying to put it into persepective that's all.
If all our players were fit and in form our first choice would probably look something like

Howard
Coleman Jagielka Stones Baines
Barry McCarthy
Mirallas Barkley Pienaar
Lukaku
Granted some people might argue about whether Eto'o, Naismith or McGeady might start, but that's a bloody good team.

Where are the obvious weaknesses ? Probably Pienaar ( based on age as much as anything ) and Howard ( based on him being decent rather than top class ) in that order. If we could get better first choices than those two in, without losing either Pienaar or Howard, I'd be made up. It's then a case of do you want to strengthen the squad rather than strengthen the first choicers. Come the Summer Martinez will have choices to make, I doubt we'll change much in January.

Howard
Coleman Stones Jagielka Baines
Barry McCarthy
Mirallas Barkley ????
Lukaku
Pienaar is too slow, and we need to buy someone as what we have on the bench are not that good. Eto is someone that i would use as a sub not as a starter. I do not think it works well having Lukaku and eto on from the start (only worked at Burnley, but not any other Premier League game)

Pienaar too slow? He may not be an out and out whippet over distance but his acceleration and speed over 10 yards is one of his major assets and enables him to turn and get away from markers.

If I had to make a list of players that could possibly do something ridiculous to lose us a game, Tim would be in there at number two.

God, we were awful that night.
If people think we were poor today then they should remember just how gash we were for that game. Petrov tore us to shreds.

Didn't realize it was that recent, guess it's more like 50 league goals

But seriously, Howard was poor for the first goal, but Soldado sent him the wrong way for the second. Howard did well to keep out Soldado's effort shortly before that from Besic' header right to Soldado, but no one is talking about that.

Howard is past his best - If you look at Lloris he make important save and wins Spurs matches.

We had to score a world class goal to beat him today.

.

No in order to beat him we had to muster more than what 2 good shots on goal? Howard sucked but had a decent month and he was far from the worst yesterday. Our midfield was a dumpster fire. Coleman kept trying the same move every time he possessed the ball and Spurs caught on from oh the 1st time he tried it.

We have a few top class young players around the side and coming through now. However goalkeeper is a specialist position and top class young keepers are hard to find.

Do we go for a begovic type or do what man utd did when they signed de gea and moulded him?

The main thing Pienaar does is fall on the floor he has no pace and when we attack with pace he his found out. The Refs are even fed up giving him a free kick, because that is all he is looking for.

If you gave Pienaar the ball, by the time he has run 10 yards the opposition have caught him up.

Now he is back, we shall see what he does.
