Is it time for us to replace Howard?

Considering people keep using the "stats" in their case against Howard but in the same breath advocating Begovic & Schmeichel should realise he's above them both in The PPI which uses all the stats for GKs and gives each player an overall score

Come on now. I don't rate Howard but you can't blame a keeper for getting beat in a one on one from about 6 yards out.

His attempt to save the goals was poor. If you watch Lloris he is out so fast and puts the striker off.
We need new solid Keeper. Why did we not sign Pantilimon, who is at Sunderland. Apart from the 8-0 hammering Sunderland had at Southampton - Sunderland would be on the same number of goals conceded as Chelsea.

This season Howard has too many errors - Distin & Howard need to be replace - Distin will be 37 in 2 weeks time.

Howard is one of those players who has never been popular and is first to get a load of stick when he has a bad game

Bit like Osman in that respect

Keepers I'd rather have than him in the Premier League: De Gea, Courtois, Cech, Hart, Lloris and Begovic. Other than that, I wouldn't say I think anyone else is particularly much better than him. If a replacement became available who was significantly better and younger than him, I'd be all for it, as I would for pretty much any other player in the side.

I think we notice Howard's mistakes more because he plays for us, but I don't think he makes significantly more than his peers.
Some fair points made here. In fact I wouldn't even have Hart in the list of better keepers - he's the most overrated keeper in the PL. A guy we have recently missed out on though is the keeper who moved from Reading to QPR (Alex McCarthy). Excellent keeper, not just his shot stopping.

All I know is that if roles reversed and lloris was in goal for us yesterday we would have got something out the game.
Not a knee jerk reaction but Howard had a decent season last year, but apart from that the 2 seasons before he was average and this year hadn't been his best. I guess his efforts at the World Cup have taken its toll. A crazy decision by the club to offer him a long term contract when he was already in his mid 30s. Just can't get my head around that.

Clearly theres two options, a young player or a proven keeper. Theres risks to both, mainly if foreign can they adapt to the league etc...surprised butland seems to have fallen off the radar.
