In hindsight the St Andrews accord was disastrous for NI politics.

Hard to know really, although I was only in my early teens back at the time of St Andrews. McGuinness and Paisley made it work for a bit. The people after haven't been able to.

Maybe I'm naive but when a government isn't functioning then the first stop should always be back to the people at the polls. They shouldn't be allowed to have prolonged talks and periods of no government.
