I can’t see it honestly. Putting all politics aside, Boris is just too big for Corbyn. May made a humongous mistake and made it worse by making it about herself, while Corbyn enjoyed his new found fame. Boris is different and everyone knows it.....

He's different for you (which is why you call him "Boris"). And you obviously take a presidential view of politics in this country, which I dont.

It comes down to this at the end of the day: whenever an election comes (and as said it could be weeks OR months off) it'll turn on whether it's all about Brexit or whether it's fought on a range of issues.

But make no mistake: even if Brexit is to the fore (and I doubt it'll be the only issue at play) people are bricking it over what no-deal entails. You might get the big mouth blow-hards screaming loudly in front of the cameras, but most people will quietly reflect on what it means for them and their family. So dont automatically assume that IF the election is Brexit-focussed to the exclusion of all other issues that it'll be good news for the cult that controls the Tory Party right now.

I‘m not and I don’t believe Boris is. He’s been talking about lots of things other than Brexit and is putting together policies that he knows will play well, unlike Maybot with her fox hunting and do down the retired stuff. Boris will out Corbyn Corbyn with his giveaways, he plays the fool, but he is nobodies fool.......

No one believes any Tory will make good on promises of manufacturing investment and low pay increases - and a general end to austerity - still less this pathologiocal liar. If it's material issues that decide the day, it'll be Labour that secure it.

When we don’t leave on the 31st, then the Tories will haemorrhage votes to Farage Ltd. UNLESS they cow-tow to his pact condition that they stand on a no deal ticket, which would in turn alienate moderate Tory voters.

If a deal is struck with Farage and luggage and they take a few seats the problem is not just short term in the sense that they have the Tory cult over a barrel post GE, the problem for the Tories is that they give a foot hold in parliament and political life in this country to an electoral force to their right. The Brexit party under Farage can easily morph into a non-Brexit, multi-issue party post Brexit and then there's a fatally weakened Tory Party. It'd be the equaivalant to the loss of Scottish seats for Labour, that sort of impact, potentially.

So, I see no deal.

Johnson will gamble that if he can get an election after he refuses to extend beyond 31st October, he can then sell himself as the no deal candidate and sweep up all voters to the right.

It's all choreographed that way, IMO.

No matter who the party is, it's great coming up with all these great policies, and another thing showing how they'll all be paid for.

Not an issue anymore though; the Tories are in full money tree mode so any party doing the same aren't going to be censured by their opponents. It's then just a matter of who is the more credible in selling that message of largesse. Guess which party wont be believed?

That's all besides the reality of costing it, of course. It's politics.

You could well be right, but personally I think that’ll be yet another error by Cummings & Co. As even now, only around 2/3rds of Leavers actually see no deal as the way to go.

If they stand on a no deal ticket, then they’ll effectively make the election a 2nd ref.

Hopefully mate.

I fervently believe there's a silent majority out here who wont be daft enough to vote for pond scum like Johnson and allow him to crater their material existence. Voting for him doesn't make sense to me...even just on Brexit. I have faith in my fellow citizens.

not really, people will always believe that the Tories will have the money, no one believes Corbyn will......

IMO there is a very good reason Johnson was hellbent on having an Election before October 31st.

He desperately needed to have that election before Brexit if he was to hoover up enough Labour leavers to win a majority.

“Vote for me and we will get Brexit done”.

But if Brexit is already “done” by Election Day then why the heck would Labour leave voters want to re-elect the most hateful, mendacious, incompetent, right wing government in living memory?

That’s what I think anyway.

Still waiting for the result of the 1918 GE to be implemented here (73 out of 105 constituencies voted for a republic).

It's a bit rich for Brexiteers to be wailing about the denial of democracy 101 years later in 2019 on 52% of a popular vote.

Just get rid of the border completely and end this godforsaken mess forever.

Karma's a bitch, innit.
Despite being a Nationalist from the ROI I actually don't think we could deal with a united Ireland

Our living standards down south are much higher
