I am fast coming to believe Brexit under anyone is a “non starter”.

There will be a Referendum on any terms or final deal and that will bring the curtain down on this whole sorry saga.
I think she will be deposed either by her own party or a GE - her Brexit plan is her obituary imo tbh I am that frustrated with her I would vote for Corbyn always voted Labour but never liked his Marxist views but she has become a proven liar .... If the DUP and others vote it down which is now certain the letters will pile in or the will be a GE.....

Corbyn believes in selective Marxism Joey, redistribution of wealth as long as his million pound+ pension is secure.

...if only.

The DUP is becoming increasingly isolated back home.

Their knowitall arrogance is reaching uncharted levels of delusion as they attack all and sundry, including many of their own supporters and including the Ulster Farmers Union, the agricultural wing of the DUP.

Sammy Tache is now absurdly claiming the business organisations of NI were show May’s deal in advance.

It is going to be hard for the DUP to fly in the face of this opposition in their own backyard and among many of their own grassroot supporters, despite their current bluster.

I imagine there must be great debate raging behind DUP doors, in the inner sanctum.

Mr Wilson also claimed that business and farming groups had been shown the Brexit deal before it was unveiled "encouraged to go out and promote it, which they have done, and quite clearly they haven't thought of the consequences for their own members."
Those NI business leaders must be thinking: "The state of this lot: cutting their dodgy energy deals here and bagging free holidays and goodness knows what else off foreign businesses lobbying them at Westminster calling us out as corrupt".

Imagine this country being held to ransom by these spanners. Shameful. May deserves all she gets.

Disappointing to hear Corbyn attacking May last week over compromising on the backstop and backing the DUP's position. Expected better tbh.
Why? He believes in keeping working class people everywhere together, not fracturing them and playing to nationalist sentiment. He's an internationalist. His view of the EU is that it can be a force for good if dominated by social need rather than market greed.

His stance on the independence issue in Scotland should have given you advance warning of his attitude to NI politics.

Shameful doesn’t even come close to describing it, Dave.

The DUP have been shown up as incompetent in the extreme in their own bailiwick and up to their neck in sleaze and hypocrisy over a number of years.

Their spokespeople are being laughed at back in Belfast for accusing the business leaders of never even reading the document yet their own leader, Mrs. Foster, sat in the dock at the RHI inquiry and admitted to signing the RHI deal without reading it.

And that has cost the taxpayer hundreds of millions and caused the Stormont government to collapse.

And whereas Jeffrey Donaldson MP is accusing the businesspeople and farmers leaders of supporting May’s deal without reading it, wee Sammy Tache is alleging they were given it to read before it was released.

In short.....the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing.

And these are the people the Brexiteers are pinning their hopes on to dislodge the Prime Minister and force us to leave the EU with a crash, a bang and a wallop.

You couldn’t make it up.

Because in backing the DUP's position he doing exactly what you say he shouldn't be doing - playing to nationalist sentiment.

I remember reading Eamonn McCann's stuff years ago when he wrote for the SWP and his comment about the Unionists: "tuppence ha'penny looking down on tuppence". That always stuck in my mind as spot on in a couple of ways.

A horrible bunch of troglodytes.

I love reading and listening to Eamon.

If you ever get a chance, read his book “War and an Irish town”......about growing up in Derry when the Unionist one party rule and gerrymandering hegemony was at its zenith.
