I heard something today at PM questions from Kate Hoey. She said that there had been an agreement between NI and the ROI that their fishermen could fish in each other’s fishing grounds, but that the ROI had reneged on the deal two years ago.......

The Taoiseach's just been on TV and stated that the text of the backstop is legally binding. It can't be ended unilaterally, so the UK can't decide in a couple of years that it's time is up, and it will remain in place "unless and until" an alternative agreement is found in the coming negotiations. Sounds like a guarantee which is very reassuring for all of us and especially for those of us that live in communities in border areas.

Breathing a sigh of relief tonight although it may only last for a few days depending on upcoming events in Westminster.

meh, I'm sure they can iron something out.
Looks increasingly like NI staying in the single market and no hard border so I'm happy. Feel free to carry on with your Brexit now!

Businesses seem to like the deal , but the fact that we cannot leave as you stated till the end of never-It is a nail in Mays premiership imo it is not a one foot in or one foot out deal it costing 50 billion plus, and they dictate when we leave on the 12th of never what pathetic negotiation is that?........

The northern Ireland fishermen want Irish fishing boats kept away in the event of a no deal
That also means boats from every EU country btw

My point being that NI boats are being refused access to ROI waters, but not the other way around. Unless Hoey, May and myself misunderstood the question.....
