I’m not so sure. The USA is more likely to ask the EU why is it that they cannot have the backstop instead of the U.K.....

It’s about as likely as Boris Johnson going interailing around Europe to be honest.

Ireland and the Irish vote is a very important political issue in the USA always has been for it’s politicians, before you factor in the economics of the European market. The emotional, popular opinion and economic praticaticaties make the UK the smelly kid in the class and very isolated, but I guess that’s the point really.

The USA will hold a significant sway or leverage in this yet in my opinion.

There is an ignore button you know. Your sort of post is designed to belittle and shut down debate. You couldn’t even be bothered to ask why ? So if you do not wish to debate, please do not respond. There are a few of you trying this particular strategy, and quite honestly adding nothing other than childish comments. Debate or don’t, but don’t try and be clever, because you are not......

I don't have you on ignore because, occasionally, you make an interesting point. I also think, though frustrating, it's good to get a variety of views in order to form an opinion.
However, the more desperate the political situation gets, the more ridiculous and entrenched your views have become.
You usually believe in what you're saying but lately, and especially around 9pm, it seems like you just hop on the computer to wind people up.

Very probably, but what will Trump do ?....

And for no other reason than to keep the masters from Brussels happy......

No but we’re leaving and demanding they can no longer have the rights they’ve had , as you’ve said for 40 years . You’d basically be saying to them you can’t do lots of things but we still need to be able to do all the things to make it easy for us . That’s what the negotiations process is all about surely and we were told that that’d be easy .

Then don’t follow the line that one or two on here are attempting, of belittling instead of debating, you are better than that. Leave the childish digs for the children and the bigots.......as you will know, I like to try to see a different viewpoint, and I try to tempt reasonable debate, there are however some that cannot handle an opposing view, and go into abusive mode......

And it should have been, so why isn’t it.......

Very little he’s a dead duck in most things and likely the populist vote as he goes for re-election he won’t be disenfranchising the Irish American vote for a start, there has already been comment made on the threat of breaching the GFA in Congress, which the USA played a significant part and used for political gain domestically.

Congress and senate will be where the groundswell will happen, particularly among the Irish American politicians of which there are many. Every polititcan and particularly east coast politician will have to have Ireland on their agenda, its an easy win for them.

When Ireland calls America always listens.

9pm that's when the aggression kicks in. A belly full of beer might be something to do with it.
