Still a war criminal though!Blair was RC.

He's been waging war against the US and the UK for decades, funding and organising terrorist attacks, supporting Assad's war in Syria. It's a wee bit more nuanced and complicated than 'bad man dead'.
Re the bold part, it's easy to paint a pretty picture of how Iran was before the Islamic revolution, but between 1953-1979 Iran was led by a vicious dictator (Shah Pahlavi) who Iranian people hated, and who had been installed by the US and UK after they overthrew the democtratically elected government of Mohammad Mossadegh. A lot of Iranians were happy when he was overthrown before they realised the extent of what was coming next.
WW1 - they joined in when the European adverseries had just about decimated each other. Why did they join in? They had nothing against Imperial Germany.Yes, I agree, undoubtedly they have shaped the world's development in as much as way as possible that they can benefit from it, but that's not an unreasonable strategy. It costs alot to spend so much on military, intelligence, satellites etc. Yet we benefit from alot of those developments too, just as much as American's in most instances.
If they had a different policy though, it doesn't bear thinking about. WW1 and WW2 for example would have had different outcomes.

They realised that French/British industry was worn out and they saw great business opportunities. Look at the US companies that came to UK after that war; Ford,GM, Mars, Singer, Kelloggs. etc.
WW2 - well the Japs zapped them in the Pacific.
In N Africa and in Europe they had no need to join other than Churchill's pleading. (the holacaust had not been discovered in 1942). They sold weapons and arms to UK before that, and charged a price that took 50 years to pay off the debt.
Having said that, if the merrycans hadn't joined in then I think the Soviets would have first beaten the Germans, then over run the rest of western europe right to the atlantic coast.
Hey, perhaps Roosevelt's advisors saw that coming too.![]()
No he wasn't. He converted to Catholicism after he killed all those people...to gain absolution no doubt.Blair was RC.
Yes in theory because of his alliance with the Japs. He had no access to confronting US troops or US territory before they arrived in N Africa and later in NW Europ.FWIW they didn’t “join” in Europe, Hitler declared war on them.

Normal country
Correct. German submarines were active in the Long Island Sound in January 1942. I believe a British tanker was sunk in the general vicinity of MontaukNot really - they had submarines off the East Coast and sinking US shipping in US waters really quickly.

Yup. I grew up on Long Island, so those tales are more vivid to me, but you’re absolutely correct regarding sub activity in the Outer BanksThey also did a lot of damage around the Cape Hatteras area off the Carolinas.
Pity he didn't convert to Buddhism; I'd have stamped down hard on that 'kin maggot he came back as.hahha, you can imagine him going through all the religions...
'hang on, this one says i can be absolved of all sins if i confess...i've found one cherie!!'
