Current Affairs Intolerance….

I can tell you one group of people, that are massively swayed by traditional newspapers, the elderly.

The Mail in particular is read by them. Hence, why it does it`s best to non stop scare the living daylights out of them, with it`s borderline far right, articles of the collapse of the country, due to immigration, foreign interference, Covid, anything slightly left wing and anything else it can find to keep them terrified.
Any evidence/quotes/facts to support your suggestion that the elderly are 'massively swayed' by traditional press?

The elderly are the least likely to change their minds... a lifetime of experience and accumulated wisdom will see to that...

They may prefer newspapers as their primary source of news... that doesn't mean they will only buy The Daily Mail. I'm sure the Daily Mirror and The Guardian also have life-long, elderly customers. Can they not be swayed?

Ultimately, newspapers are businesses. They appeal to their core support. They don't tell their customers how to think, they write articles that will appeal to their customers. That's how they sell their content.

If the Daily Mail is sold, and then taken over by a new far-left owner, do you think all Daily Mail readers would just blindly follow the new narrative and stance because they have been swayed by change? No! They would move to a new source.

lolYou should tell every politician to stop trying to lick Murdoch’s hoop then mate. Save them a lot of time and trouble.

Im not a very tolerant person.

I find life is too short to listen to peoples views I disagree with on every single level.

That doesnt mean I dont read other viewpoints, but I certainly do not tolerate them.

No one would ever have guessed….

This is true of quite a lot of media tbh, not defending the mail, telegraph, guardian or whatever, but fear and outrage sells papers, good news and nice stories don’t. It‘s not really an age thing, it’s what the media chose to publish….

If you choose to buy the Daily Mail out of an array of papers on the stand then you are enabling their intolerate right wing views. Pretty basic level this.
