Current Affairs Intolerance….

In a country where the biggest selling print newspapers are the Daily Fail and The Scum I don't think you can necessarily equate 'mainstream' with tolerant.

He didn’t refer to the press, and tbf the ‘mainstream voter’ tends to keep their own counsel. Which is why the pollsters usually get it wrong.……

I'm not saying he did refer to the press. I'm saying that the top selling newspapers could be a fair indicator of what the 'mainstream' consensus is.

Not really, I read the Chinese Global Times, Mercosur News, Guardian, BBC, Telegraph and all manner of media rubbish…never managed Pravda mind…..

Catch up!!!

You can't keep blaming right-wing newspapers, or indeed, any newspaper from a bygone era, for directly affecting public opinion in the modern world.

Traditional news sources are becoming less relevant by the day... give it a few more years, and traditional newspapers, or "Mainstream" sources, such as the DM, or the Scum, are gone...

It's now social media, and multiple sources. Read multiple sources and make your own judgement...

I'd guess that the 'mainstream' who *buy* print media don't buy multiple titles across various political leanings. The typical Scum reader doesn't also pick up a copy of The Morning Star and a Guardianista doesn't grab a copy of The Sport to accompany their vegan wrap and £7 coffee.

What I'm saying is that in a country where the top selling print titles are what they are then there is a fair chance that the 'mainstream voter' isn't completely free of intolerance for certain sections of society given the history (both recent and older) of those titles.

You are right with this. I gave up buying or reading printed news a long time ago, it’s always a day out of date…..

'Top selling, printed media' is misleading... you are suggesting that said media is relevant and important. It isn't.

And the intolerant, far-left use that opportunity to be loud... and to bully, insult, abuse and intimidate anyone who disagrees.

It kind of works... publicly, at least. They silence most public support, then think they have won... Then, the mainstream voter gets to vote in private. 80 seat majority, I think it was...

Social media has created a new generation of left wing where if you dont believe in x,y,z then you're not "woke" enough and thus a swivel eyed right winger. Its sad to see whats happened to the Left - I know many traditional lefties/socialists who've been attacked on social media by these deranged types.

What you're seeing is a society forming of ostriches.
