Been reading some of the threads and posts back in 2017 when we started this part of the Forum. It is quite noticeable how more tolerant and even handed posters were back then. No following the crowd or groupthink, just views and comments from individuals as people saw them. A pity we’ve lost that as intolerance seems to have taken over every debate…..

You were literally having the same arguments about right and left extremism and bandying Stalin/Hitler around to attack any slightly alternative viewpoint to hands off 'centrism' back in 2017.

In a country where the biggest selling print newspapers are the Daily Fail and The Scum I don't think you can necessarily equate 'mainstream' with tolerant.
