In Moyes We Trust

I just thought it warranted saying as it seems with the so called "debacle" going on in our transfer dealings, that Moyes has pretty much proven himself in the transfer market.

We've splashed the cash when needed and I don't think I'm out of order in saying that this window won't be any different.

Yes we're the last club not to have bought anyone.

Yes we just sold one of our better players without an "immediate' replacement.

But I can't think of anyone I'd rather have at the helm right now looking at potential players to bring in than one David Moyes. He WILL improve the squad.

That is all.

Here, Here.

Although it is slightly worrying I still believe in Moyes to deliver what he has stated earlier on in the window.

The only worry is whether the board will back him all the way. At the end of the day he still hasn't signed the contract, I am hoping that Moutinho will be signed within the week and then that will start the ball rolling but it has to roll pretty fast to ensure preperations for the team are as perfect as they can be.

I think that is a concern shared by many but I'd point to two things that you can take comfort in:

1) They've backed him every year here recently where he's made club record purchases (Beattie, AJ, Yakubu.)

2) I'm speculating here but I don't think he'd consider signing a new deal if he didn't think he get that backing in the transfer market.

Bainsey you are correct. The frustration to Moyes is deals haven't been in the advance stage. This is spilled out to the fan base and I must say even myself being a little perturbed on the quiet moves on the transfer front. Moyes will get it right if the backing is 100% behind him. If not his contract won't be signed its as simple as that. He isn't going to be a patsy on this one. He has a vision and its looking good in my opinion. Now I can't second guess what the board is always up to and what they can or will not entertain unless pushed against the wall. I'm not bashing Wyness or Kenwright I'm just saying Moyes is using a lot of leverage at the moment to impliment what he wants. I hope this works out for everyone. The gaffer, fan and Board. With this being one of the most important times in club history.

when i get paid. i dont go shouting from the roof tops how much i have to spend. i dont see why anyone or any company should be any different. why should BK tell the world how much he has available.

as for johnson being one of our 'better players' - i couldnt agree less.

he has gone to fulham for one reason only, the teams around and above us play at a higher standard than his, that is why he has gone to a club with no ambition, who sit in the lower reaches of the division, because he is not good enough.

as for trusting moyes, defo

exactly right, if he was as good as some people make out why didn't Pompey Citeh or Villa go in for him. He's found his level at Fulham, good luck to him as he always put in a shift but the quality just wasn't there and Moyesey agrees or he wouldn't have sold him

Always liked AJ, as he is a good, hardworking and honest professional. well at least that's the impression I have from him. However, I don't believe he was good enough for us anymore. It's all about progression and when we signed him two years ago, he certainly was that compared to the other strikers we had in our squad at that time. We seriously improved as a club since that time though and he quite simply couldn't raise his standard to the required level in my eyes. We have better strikers than him in Yakubu and Vaughan now, so in order to move forward we have to replace him with someone better. No time for sentiments, but I do hope AJ does very well for his new club.

We're not the last club to sign anyone - Utd haven't!...

And really, of the teams around us -

Spurs are having a merry-go-round summer and are selling their only 2 good strikers and half of everyone else to Sunderland,
Villa's not brought in anyone worth shouting about, have a want-away captain and lost Melberg and now Bouma,
City's only got this unproven, over-priced Jo character on top of another new manager's system to adapt to,
Liverpool haven't signed what they really need - just another striker to replace Crouch and inferior fullbacks,
Arsenal's having a firesale.

Strange summer all round, very interested now to see what our next move is. Hoping against hope that we see some ballsy moves with a bit of the ambition we're all looking for.

Am not worried in the slightest, im actually drooling with what i think moyes is going to do with what i would now imagine is close to 30 mill spends!
