In hindsight who would you have chosen

If you could go back in time who would you have chosen as you manager in November?

I think everyone, including Allerdyce, knows that he will be replaced in the summer. He will be paid handsomely and will redeem his reputation and get a gig managing Wales or something.

He is not an Everton manager, despite all this guff about sorting out the defence and an unbeaten run. Christ it's as if we are West Brom or something. The reasons for players being shithouses for the first 16 games goes beyond the managers door imho.

This club is in danger of losing its identify in the next 3-4 years if we are not careful. I'm a believer in Moshiri, although whether Usmanov is involved remains adrift of my understanding.

In the interim I'm not sure it matters who is manager but we've absolutely got to get it right with the next manager.

Hypothetically if Allardyce continues 2pts per game average over the rest of the season would you want him fired?

Who could actually realistically come in the summer and forge a superior average than that next season?

I think some of the persistent fume over Allardyce is due to doom-mongers not getting their way with an instant Everton implosion. Rather than say 'Gosh, I was wrong, this is better than I expected', the fume only escalates. Honestly, would the anti-Sam brigade have preferred him to preside over a series of 4-0 thumpings so they could come on here and be smug with an 'I told you so' series of posts?

2pts avg over 6-7 games Zat.

How are we going to get into champions lge positions playing with 3 centre half's and two full backs against West Brom?

Realistically who can we bring into to be the 7th best paid manager in world football?

That's aiming far too low. It's a continuation of the inertia under Kenwright.

Do you honestly believe the club's goal this season is to achieve CL football?

It was at the beginning of the season I reckon, but then it all went wrong.

Make no mistake the #1 goal of the club in the near future is to get a stadium built, hence bunker down mode hire.

Surely those aspirations are not mutually exclusive.

Allerdyce will do what he is being paid handsomely for and then move on. Anyone who thinks we are doing anything other than threading water with him is for the birds imho.

He is the equivalent of putting the handbrake on and expecting the car to not roll down the hill. It won't go forward with any great significance but it won't roll down the hill.

Unless Sammy Lee is lifting it of course

Sure but he was the right man for the job for this year after the wheels fell off. Going down is never an option but it's even moreso with the stadium still hanging in the balance.

We were never going to go down in reality. I don't believe Koeman was sacked because we were going to get relegated. He had lost the dressing room and the players were being shithouses. I think he had overstepped the mark at times in press conferences aa well. Publicly slating the club for transfer inertia last January and I believe a mishandling of the Barkley contract situation.

Allerdyce has got the players doing the very basics of being a professional footballer, of that there is no doubt. That is a prerequisite is it not though? Beyond that I've seen nothing to convince me he will be in charge past June 1st.

Personally I disagree. We were definitely heading down IMO. As you say he lost the players. Unsy kept us on that same path.

I haven't felt like we'd actually be in a relegation fight in quite a long while. Martinez never had us as close to the precipice as we were this season.

IMO Koeman was taking us straight down and the players knew it.

I don't know one of the Martinez years we were level with Hull in March and Hull went down that year so that's pretty close
