some perspective though mate we have signed two squad players for pittance and a decentish striker, compared to the likes of Swansea who have signed bony and the likes of Southampton and Norwich who are attracting/chasing talent like fer, banega, wolfswinkel etc. Im content with who we have signed but Im not excited or made up with any of them, hopefully RM will pull a class signing out the hat

Just made up we dont have to start another season off with that hoofball ginger divvy boring the arse off us.

but the fact is Dave, we have Relegation candidates in the squad, and managing the club now.

Thems is facts, you can counter with the trophy win - which seems the blood lust for some fans like, i'd rather keep my Premier league status intact thanks

But what do we always say at the end of every season Bryan...we all usually ask the question whether there's any decent players we can take from the clubs relegated. This time around we just happened to be in pole position to make it a reality.

They're decent signings that'll look a bit better when we see a real quality signing through the door (unfortunately with the cash generated from Baines' sale or whoever).

It's crazy to question Martinez. He might have taken Wigan down but he proved with Swansea that he can build a club out of pretty much nothing. If he turns into a disaster I'll be at the head of the lynching party, but until then he needs to be given a chance.

Exactly, totally agree - i want him to succeed, but like some have pointed out, any of the teams immediately below us or above us had signed this lot - what would your opinion be? " Wow, they are gunning for the top 6 this year!" ... no?

Hardly inspirational stuff is it?

Because they are inextricably linked aren't they?

Why scare monger and propagate such ill thought out ideas? serves absolutely no purpose.

I dont think anyone would suggest they are top draw, no. But look at the hard facts here: he's probably paid about £8-8.5M for three players that'll add depth to a threadbare squad. That's very good going in this crazy marketplace.

We need to add real class in CM and RM for this to be a good window and retain Baines. If that happens we're in business.

winning a trophy and being relegated arent linked?

Sorry? i thought that by conceding so many goals, and losing so many games that equaled relegation, and by winning a trophy meant that people didn't really care.

Because thats the general consensus.

I have no idea what you're saying here.... are you sticking with the theorem if you win the cup it means you get relegated?

exactly had citeh trounced wigan in the final I bet about half of those that wanted Martinez wouldn't have, its all about the sexy Spanish name, philsophee and cup win.

I pray we do well and he needs the chance to prove his worth, but Im still worried but like Davek said if we can keep our best players and bring in atleast one class player like Moses/Banega/Honda etc. it will have been a good window compared to others gone by
