I'm a lonely island in Dublin

Lads, there's a bar in Marmaris called the Everton Bar (google it), it's door to door (and wall to wall) with the Anfield bar. Boss place, but I learned about it RIGHT after I left Marmaris, and it turned out that I was staying about a minute away from it :(

Believe it's shut now mate, but was rammed with Blues watching us whenever a game was on.

I'm a Toffee in Dublin myself. Think the club made a huge error with the kitbag deal, me and my dad are blues and whenever we're in sports shops there's jerseys for 8 or 9 premier league clubs and not us. it's ridiculous! Me dad's a blue over 40 years and he's always been telling me about the massive support we used to have over here. We still have a decent one but its very rare to see someone in Everton merch around.

Im another Blue living in Dublin. Im 23 and got supporting Everton from me dad. From going to Goodison most weeks I can tell you we have a massive following in Ireland. Iv went to ****holes like Bolton Sunderland and Oldham watching the Blues and always meet another Irish Blue. Theres normally about 3 Tricolours behind the Park End goal too which is nice to see. The RS and United might have more "Fans" but every Evertonian you meet here is a diehard supporter. The day i see us when a cup all of Dublin will know about it.

Im from Athy a small town an hour from Dublin and it was hell being an Everton supporter as a kid as it seemed EVERYBODY else supported the RS. The cup final losses in the 80s were hell.

I know about 6 other Everton in my small town though and that doesn't include my two younger brothers and my oldest nephew(whose just starting to take it a bit seriously). My two younger brothers are absolutely loving our team right now and being surrounded by Man U and RS fans makes it more fun as they realise its worth so much more when we win, and if we go on to win something under Bobby. The three of us went to our first game together vs Chelsea, their first game ever, and it was just an amazing experience singing and bouncing around in the Lower Gladys together. One of the best moments ever really.

Working most of the last 15 years in Dublin I have met lots of random toffees. Enough to know there is an old traditional support their for them, but its understandable with the lack of success that younger kids are unlikely to follow us unless theyve a family connection or they are from Liverpool.

Living now in Barcelona the first bar I started frequenting had an Everton barman, although as he only spoke spanish to me and didnt look English it took a few weeks before I found that out. I know three bars here now that have Everton connections. One of them Moyes was in a couple of times when over scouting, although I havent made it to that bar yet.

As you can imagine living here and having the Catalan connection to the club just makes it all the better.

Do you all think Coleman's ascendancy will have an effect on younger Irish? I'm sure Man U picked up a lot of support when Roy Keane was there?

Also, is Celtic still first choice for most or is that not true anymore?

I think Coleman and Macca will mean we pick up a few fans yeah. ON the Celtic thing I would say 80% of the football fans that I have met in my 25 years or so of following the sport couldn't give a damn about Celtic. There is definitely a lot of fans of them though.

I have zero interest in Scottish football, and international football for that matter. Everton is enough for me.

Irish people have a passing interest in Celtic due to the historical and player connections
plus they play in our national colours, which is handy.
and most people pick up a cheap Celtic shirt in the sales.

but at least the shirts are in the feckin' shops over here!!!!
Unlike Everton.

Kitbag strikes again mate. You used to be able to get them in Belfast. Usually tucked away in the corner of the sports shops, but since kitbag and Im guessing a general reduction in demand, you can't get them anywhere.

If you can't get them where you are mate, just get them online.

Eshopping. It's the way forward.
