We’ve been utterly crap in midfield for ages and he’s a major part of the midfield.

Bye

Despite the fact he's number 2 in the tackling stats and our top player at 10th in interceptions, it's hard to argue with you about our midfield in general.

Much as I rate Sigurdsson in the right setup, I'd be more interested to see him out of the equation first because that "right setup" is not the one we have.

If Gana is to go and it's a not like-for-like replacement, it has to be for a Barkley-esq ball carrier.

Top notch holding mid who can distribute, Gomes to one side to drive forward, Toni Kroos lite type next to Gomes to switch play and dictate play. No more rubbish number 10s being pampered to the detriment of the whole team.

It’s a tough one. We are quite abysmal with Gueye in the team but we are even worse without him. I’m all for a better ball playing midfielder coming in but unless the rest of the team suddenly learn how to pass and actually do something with the ball when they have it it’s a waste of time at the moment. It’s also a catch 22 situation as we lose possession all the time and Gueye seems to be the only sod capable of winning the ball back but then when he gets it he passes it back to the opposition and has to try and win it back. If the whole team suddenly learns how to pass properly we might get somewhere.

it seems Gueye just creates a job for himself.
