I really don't see how this is a debate.
The point is to win games AND entertain. Martinez's first season is the only time we have done this since Kendall.
Oh God, the moyes era.Not true at all. The 07/08 season we were a joy to watch, Arteta and Pienaar pulling the strings, Yakubu up front, solid at the back and imperious at home. The 7-1 against Sunderland as well as the whole Europa League run. The season after that we didn't come out of the blocks quite as quick but still finished 5th and got to the FA Cup final. I was entertained watching us personally.
Oh God, the moyes era.
Agree with you mate, Arteta and Pienaar were nice to watch. Yakubu a good finisher,
But everything started with a long punt from CB. Using the 7-1 is a poor example imo as it's the equivalent of us battering Burton with how bad Sunderland were that day.
But that's your opinion, good on you.
No mate, you just write loads which provokes debate (excellent- the point of a forum) and then when someone seeks to have such a debate you leg it. Just like here:
You're a sensationalist. One who is compelling with the nonsense you write sometimes however a sensationalist nonetheless.
Shame as I always quite enjoyed your ramblings.
Oh not at all. I agree that 7-1 was entertaining. It's not really the equivalent of that, they were a mid table Premier League side. Are you saying that it's not entertaining beating a team 7-1? Because Bobby's Globetrotters never came close to it.
And there we have it,You said Bolasie has an "excellent first touch". How am I meant to be debate that - it's like pointing at an orange and calling it a potato. All I can do is say it's an orange.
And there we have it,
Good afternoon to you sir.
Am not far from that point now mate, I don’t get upset anymore when we get beat, I expect it for example satThat last Martinez year was the only time I’ve ever stopped getting up to watch the games. I can’t even remember how bad it was but I know I’d got so sick of it I stopped caring. That hasn’t happened yet so based on that, no we wouldn’t be.
Oh not at all. I agree that 7-1 was entertaining.
I'm just saying that saying that generally we were more entertaining than Martinez's team because we blasted a Roy Keane side which contained Dean Whitehead, Paul McShane, Dickson Etuhu, Dwight Yorke and Michael Chopra isn't a fair statement. But purely imo- not saying you're wrong. Each to their own.
Would we be in a better position right now if we had gritted our teeth and stuck with our wham spouting former manager?
could we get him in again for two months to teach players that?Martinez inherited an old team that couldn't play football. He had to teach them in two months in the summer of 2013 how to control a ball and pass it rather than panic and hoof it.
