Just shows how Martinez is embracing the Everton history and feels the importance of it. Martinez talks about the essence of Everton and he knows what a rich history we have.......something I felt Moyes never grasped. Now I have read that about our most successful manager I just want to erase Moyes from our history. A nice cup final win by Martinez and Moyes era will be looked upon as abject failure. In 10 to 20 years time will people look back and class Moyes as a success......no I don't think so.

Always thought it was quite obvious from Kendall's writing in the echo down the years he wasn't a fan of Moyes. Never openly criticised him, but it was obvious there was a lack of warmth there.

As has been said, Martinez seems to have done everything right in the press and transfer market, he just needs to do it on the pitch now.

Can anyone imagine Howard capitulating routinely at OT and Anfield - no me neither - because those clubs feared us when Howard's boys rolled into town. Moyes fostered a cult of personality - a cult that stated that finishing 7th and taking regular beatings at the hands of Liverpool were an achievement worthy of Everton Football Club.

I'll say it now, I'd rather have had regular 12th and 13th place finishes under Howard than the 11 year trophyless ego trip that was David Moyes.
