Player Valuation: £50m
Doing interviews with various newspapers to publicise his autobiography.

Saw this interesting bit in an interview with the Mail, at the bottom of the article:

‘I’ve not had a conversation with him (Martinez) yet, but I’ve had contact. The previous manager (David Moyes) never wanted any association with me because he wanted to do it himself. No problem, I accept that. The current manager has invited me to the training ground and I’d love to go.’

Never knew that. Sounds like he's never been to Finch Farm because of Moyes. Interesting. Little things about Moyes keep leaking out now that he's gone that don't really reflect well on him.

Seems like Martinez is happier to meet Kendall than Moyes was.

jesus christ, every day i read something new about moyes that infuriates me. This is an everton legend ffs, i know he never got the club, but that's no excuse to totally ignore key members of our history.

It just goes to show Martinez cares a lot about Everton already and has a deep understanding of our history. It's a nice touch.

is right, it's good to see. At wigan and swansea he'd already been there as a player, so it must have been a lot more nerve wrecking, especially with the massive step up in club size.

just needs to start getting the results on the pitch, now

Moyes, worshiped the ground Bill Kenwight walked on but didn't have anytme for Howard Kendall, tells us all we need to know about him, lets hope Moyes gets the reception he deserves when we go to Old Trafford in December, nothing like the one he got when he left....

Given that it has emerged that Moyes is a born again Christian whom wanted to breathalyse the players of a Monday morning to see if they had been drinking (according to Stubbsie's bio), I would bet he disapproved of Howard being a bit of a boy with the drink and that's why he wouldn't let him near the place.

Thank God thr bugger is gone.

I hope united best Liverpool, we best fulham an we draw them at home in the 4th round. Goodison park on a night game. Oh my god!

think moyes has been a christian for a while mate

As a player with Cambridge United, he received abuse from team-mate Roy McDonough for his religious belief; Moyes is a practising Christian. McDonough felt that religion was distracting them from focusing on playing, speaking of Moyes, Alan Comfort and Graham Daniels he said: "The three of them sat in the changing room with a little black book, discussing their beliefs, when they should have been getting psyched up for a relegation scrap."[6] Following a 3–3 draw with Wigan Athletic on 9 March 1985, McDonough, who was 26 years old at the time, states that he "battered" 20-year-old Moyes for not putting sufficient effort into the game.[6]
