Just remembered another good Hk story. Vague on the details but I think in the 90s. There was some charitable giving league table for the clubs and we were bottom with Lpool second bottom. I think the story was he quickly put enough money in at the last minute to put us above them just before the table was published!

Another story....
In 1988 after a meritable draw in Santigao Bernabeú stadium against Real Madrid, Howard Kendall allowed Athletic Club players to go out for a drink. They were told to be back at 1.30 am. Some of them, such as Rafael Alkorta, decided to stay out a bit longer and when they got back at reception to pick the room keys up, the keys were not there!!! HK had them all!!! so they had to go to Howard´s bedroom, one by one, and asked him politely to give them the keys....
Next day the "party-loving" players had to pay the lunch for all the staff!!

Great man!!

Was away from Liverpool yesterday, it's devastating that we laid our greatest manager to rest and we move on so quickly.

He was the biggest hero for me. What a horrible horrible day yesterday was.

Everton will be supporting a fans' initiative to mark the passing of Howard Kendall with a period of chanting and applause in the fourth minute of Sunday’s game against Sunderland.

The Everton Giant was laid to rest on Thursday after an emotional funeral service in Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral.

Fans suggested the mark of respect in the fourth minute, inspired by the number he wore as an Everton player in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

An image of Howard will appear on Goodison Park’s big screens during the fourth minute of the game.

We usually just pass it about for the first 5 mins anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem.
