On Evertons Facebook page:

"We will be supporting a fans’ initiative to mark the passing of Howard Kendall with a period of chanting and applause in the fourth minute of Sunday’s game against Sunderland.

The Everton Giant was laid to rest on Thursday after an emotional funeral service in Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral.

Fans suggested the mark of respect in the fourth minute, inspired by the number he wore as an Everton player in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

An image of Howard will appear on Goodison Park’s big screens during the fourth minute of the game."
Amazing

Why, I don't know. But I just watched Howard coming in to Elton again.
Andy Nicholls reaction gets me. No way he knew that song was gonna be played, and it got him like a shot to the heart.

Fuming with myself here.

Just watched the Toffee TV interview with Derek Mountfield and he made valid points about Moyes and his apparent unwillingness or even refusal to relate to the likes of Howard Kendall and the heroes of the mid 80's.

He ended speaking of how distraught Colin Harvey looked during the applause ahead of the Manu game and it brought it home even more that whilst Everton do more than any other club in general to help former players, for me there are some - like Colin Harvey - who deserve that little bit more.

So many players who came through the ranks when CH was in charge of the junior teams and later as first team coach have said he was the best coach they ever worked with, I am convinced that even now, his experience, knowledge and love of Everton could be proactively used.

Good post. Colin is nearly 71 and Im not sure if his health is the best to be honest. Hes the last of the Trinity...he looked like a lost boy there before the Man Utd game with his grief and Im sure the realisation of being the last. Id like to think the club would be actively supporting him now and maybe giving him some input in the club in the future to help him get through it all.

The loss of his daughter a couple of years ago has really hit Colin Harvey hard. Another class act of a player, Evertonian and a man

I'd award multiple reps for this, Everton should indeed do their best by the last of the Holy Trinity.

For me, the best, but no more than a hairs breadth between him, Bally and Howie in terms of what they all brought to the Rverton table during their glorious, wondrous time together in blue.

....recall Graeme Sharp giving Harvey his first Scotland cap such was the respect he had for him. He was undoubtably a fine coach, he was brilliant managing that youth cup winning side. I'm not sure about giving him a post, I always got the impression he retired so perhaps he'd simply had enough. He's held in great esteem by all of us and that's what matters most. The club need to roll out the blue carpet every time he turns up.

To be honest,Colin has always appeared a really humble, almost shy type of fella,it never seemed to sit well with him the media side when he was manager, but there must be some way we could tap into his vast wealth of knowledge at academy level in some form or other?

Holy cow I did not know that. Was that his daughter who became a journalist?

Just answered my own question. Not that one.
