"We will be supporting a fans’ initiative to mark the passing of Howard Kendall with a period of chanting and applause in the fourth minute of Sunday’s game against Sunderland.
The Everton Giant was laid to rest on Thursday after an emotional funeral service in Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral.
Fans suggested the mark of respect in the fourth minute, inspired by the number he wore as an Everton player in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
An image of Howard will appear on Goodison Park’s big screens during the fourth minute of the game."
Summed up perfectly in that video by the older gentleman at 2m.49s.....Been welling up throughout this thread, and seeing Big Dunc struggling to compose himself in this report just about finished me off:

So proud to be a blue. So privileged to have seen our greatest ever team moulded by a true Everton legend. RIP Boss.
Just watched the Toffee TV interview with Derek Mountfield and he made valid points about Moyes and his apparent unwillingness or even refusal to relate to the likes of Howard Kendall and the heroes of the mid 80's.
He ended speaking of how distraught Colin Harvey looked during the applause ahead of the Manu game and it brought it home even more that whilst Everton do more than any other club in general to help former players, for me there are some - like Colin Harvey - who deserve that little bit more.
So many players who came through the ranks when CH was in charge of the junior teams and later as first team coach have said he was the best coach they ever worked with, I am convinced that even now, his experience, knowledge and love of Everton could be proactively used.
Good post. Colin is nearly 71 and Im not sure if his health is the best to be honest. Hes the last of the Trinity...he looked like a lost boy there before the Man Utd game with his grief and Im sure the realisation of being the last. Id like to think the club would be actively supporting him now and maybe giving him some input in the club in the future to help him get through it all.

The loss of his daughter a couple of years ago has really hit Colin Harvey hard. Another class act of a player, Evertonian and a man
