Howard Kendall RIP

My Uncle bumped into Howard and Colin Harvey leaving Goodison the evening we had won it in 87. Asked if they wanted to go The Winslow and Howard was keen.

He walks in with the two of them and stuck with them all evening. The way he tells it, he properly treasures it. Sounds like Howard adored time with us, the people who make the club.

What a story mate.

Walking into The Winslow with Howard Kendall and Colin Harvey....I mean how good does it get for a Blue.

Final thought of the day from me. If the passing of our greatest manager, one of our greatest players and certainly one of the greatest Evertonians can be so wonderful, how good will our next silverware be?

It's down to the players and mangement, make it happen !!!!!!!

For me, after watching today's events, the shock and sadness have moved on to one of pride.

I am so proud of Howard. I think he was the greatest man to serve our club. He was a peoples man and would spend time talking to anyone. A great player and a wonderful manager.

I am proud of the farewell given to him. The songs. The stories. The crowds lining the streets. The mix of managers at the cathedral to say farewell. The round of applause as he was carried out.

I'm proud of our club. So much dignity. So well done.

Watching Big Dunc and the others fight back tears shows how important he was to the club.

So many come and go with out a second thought. 3 times he came to Everton to manage and not a bad word is ever said about him.

A true great. God bless you Howard. Going to miss seeing you round.

Think I have something in my eye watching those videos on the OS.

Kenwright talking about him coming back the third time and sorting his salary etc, and Howard saying "Don't worry", and how proud he was to come home. Too much for me.

Would there be any greater fitting than us going all the way to win the League Cup this year. I'm not one for going all kopite and "let's win it for **insert name**" but I do hope should we make it past Boro that the manager/Big Dunc/Kenwright etc. drill it into the players of just how much a trophy means to this great clubs fans and how they have the ability to emulate the great sides of HK in winning silverware and marking their places in history.
