I watched us lose to moechengladbach on pens at the pit on the Saturday they also lost to Porto i think setting up a Merseyside bore draw at Goodison the next day....Anyone remember the 0-0 at Goodison? Must have been around the late 90s.
It was a tournament and the ground seemed pretty full. Very young at the time so can't remember much more than that.
Derbies are for our stadium, their stadium and Wembley for when we beat them in cup finals. Nothing else is acceptable. Having a game in America (or elsewhere) where the majority of fans are neutral would be bizarre.
I didn't see the game last night. But how many fans would realistically travel over to watch a 'friendly' outside Merseyside/London?
Being a Celtic fan also. I would be horrified if a Glasgow derby took place outside Glasgow. The poor locals and police wouldn't know what hit them! But then again that fixture is on a different level when it comes to fan behaviour.
How does it make you feel playing Rangers at least 4 times a season? Surely it loses it's appeal?
