I'm dumbfounded by this window. A new feller takes over with a big statement about "giving all he has" and he ends up saving £3m in the window.

Whatever stock was built up since he arrived has been flushed down the bog.

He's worse than back at square one. He has a lot of reputation rebuild in front of him.
Can't disagree with you either, but I genuinely feel we tried to buy players, just think we aimed to high and executed these deals all wrong. One thing I was never comfortable with was this impression we were going to spend big. Clubs asked for ridiculous fees because they figured we had cash to spend, fans fell into the trap too I was cringing at some people talking about James Rodriguez and Juan Mata.

Lessons need to be learnt

Stones out and his fee financing what came in looks a missed opportunity to me. Apart from Williams I don't think it was well spent. I remain unconvinced on Bolasie, and Gueye is still a player with it all to prove...above all though we had these positions covered and never used the Stones cash to take care of one or maybe two primary target positions.

So even in recycling terms it's debateable whether progress was made.

But this lot have a brass 'kin neck failing to spend their own money in this window. Unforgivable for me.

Not as unforgivable as the dross purchased by El Pricko and you know it. Add the cost of our spend in the previous window and your argument may hold less water plus the fact that you totally ignore the monumental damage done to the team by your hero, all the positions he left uncovered Koeman is at least identifying, yet you blame the present board on his damage..................if you make these moans make them accurately

Tbf I just want a personal apology to the whole forum for getting so many hopes up. Regardless of 'sources', to go around saying "so and so is ours", and then to do it time and time again, despite every other sign suggesting otherwise, is just dumb. Would never have thought our moderator would be so naive, he comes across so sensible and intelligent.

Has he saved though how much did our new backroom staff cost -did RM and staff get payed off????

I wonder if anyone from Everton ever came to GOT and saw this thread and had a chuckle at the 41 votes that thought our net spend would be over 100 million

Average net spend since 2003. 3.5 million

And we wonder why Spurs have shot past us and why clubs like Stoke and West Ham are now more attractive than us

That was mainly because of how good Moyes was at buying cheap, he even paid for this window with the buying of Stones. I would love to have seen what he would have done with the Money Koeman and Martinez have had.

You can, look at the job he did at United

The absolute 'kin state of that table.

I hope there's some explanation from those ball bags at the club. Boasting all summer about new dawns and expanded ambition and coining it in with record season ticket sales on the strength of it...then this pisstake.

Moshiri hasn't felt the need to communicate in anything other than a couple of sound bites so far. Well he needs to clear his throat and finally address a lot of disillusioned supporters of this club who'll be feeling like crap now.

Outspending our illustrious rivals in the net spend table while making money.

Moshiri has game. Respect. lol

The United job was a write off before it begun, didn't get the signings he actually wanted, left with a bang average United team. He wasn't backed like the other managers have been.

I wasn't talking about United anyway, If he had the money at Everton he would have broke the top 4 more than he did, RM couldn't do it with the money he did, I don't think RK won't do it with the money he will get.

Using http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/everton-fc/transfers/verein/29/saison_id/2016 we have a net spend of -£1.18 million

The joint winners are @jaybx1878 and @Blue Cheese with a prediction of 0 spend.

Honourable mentions to

Personally I'm looking for us to make a profit and operate like a successful business

I am still thinking sweet FA. Can't shake the Moyes era mentality.

We will spend the money from stones sale only

I hope it's a negative spend, just for the utter scenes that will occur on here.

Winners have the choice between dinner with @Bruce Wayne at an establishment of his choice or a mug from @GrandOldTeam

January's competition will offer a weekend pub crawl with @peteblue as its main prize.
