That's because we set out to defend and not too loose. So they had help from another 8 outfield players.
Im not saying there bad either I just think to improve Distin has to go.
Especially now with passing out the back and how much he loves hitting it out
I play with a fella from Cameroon and he's a fitness instructor, and takes his diet and regimen very seriousl, so is probably not far from Distin in terms of fitness. He's 37 and still outpaces me by a couple of strides even though I'm fast as fk. If all that Distin does in his down time is goose and eat well then he could have a couple more years in the topflight. If he's a lad, has a poor sleep pattern and bevvies then he'll fade soon and quickly.
Disagree - Martinez has set us up for a win every game.
Sorry I meant Moyes did last year
And we must move in different circles because every Evertonian I speak to has only praise for Distin.
Possibly most I speak to are over 35 and not afraid to criticize there own I've noticed a big difference in that with younger people
That's football though, eh?
Distin got it rough for the first 6 months of his Everton career because him and Yobo were an accident waiting to happen.
The 3-3 against Utd and the backpass against Liverpool are the only two dots on an otherwise fantastic few years with us I think, cracking buy from Moyes.
That said, I still pine for a Jagielka/Lescott pairing again one day, they were the absolute b*llocks together.
I remember Baz Rathbone telling me a story once about a players pace going, and how quickly it happens.
Something like this..........
I was playing at the back, cant remember who against, and the ball got played behingd us down the flank, into the channel. I turned to give chase to the ball, putting my all in to try and re-start an attack. I heard the pound of footsteps behind me, catching me up, getting closer and closer, I could hear his breathing right down my neck. I really busted my lungs, every ounce of me was sceraming as I couldnt physically go any faster. The ball was just slowing down and I was getting there, I was going to get there first. I reached it, stretched out my leg and powered the ball out of play, and into the crowd to a cacophony of boos and jeers, I turned around to see who it was that was chasing me so hard, then it dawned on me, the person so close to me was in fact the linesman.
I knew then, my pace had gone.
9 goals conceded in 6.
1 wonderstrike (Cabaye, Newcastle)
2 penalties (West Ham, Man City)
1 fluke (Von Wolfspiss, Norwich)
Of the 5 remaining: Fellaini let Whittaker through on goal. Coleman was beat by Negredo. Distin was beat by Aguero. Jagielka was beat by Remy. And Distin failed to close down Ravel Morrison (granted it was outside the 18).
