How long can sylvain go on for

He's the player in our first 11 that needs replacing most if we are to improve. It's interesting everyone on here loves him, yet most Evertonians I speak don't. Personally I think individually he is a good defender but his positioning is poor, he kicks and heads the ball out of play more than anyone I've ever seen and he has never formed a partnership in my view with Jagielka. We very rarely look solid and his pace rescues him all the time.

Hes been great this season.

Also get the impression the club has really got him- seems to really care. 'Once a blue....'

It's the way he loves to wind up reds on twitter, for laughs that gets me!

I reckon he's got another year or two. Him and Barry are two of the oldest but fittest players we have.

Everyone's allowed to have different opinions
Yours is very different, but own it! claim it as your own!
Don't make reference to 'Most Evertonians' that don't exist :)
I think everyone knows there are better defenders out there, but he is a phenomenal 48 year old defender and has a really good partnership with Jags

Couldn't disagree with you more, but just goes to show it's a game of opinions!

If anything, Distin rescues Jags pretty often. And somehow, in my opinion, he's getting even better with age. He's an absolute machine

I felt like that for a long time TBH. Both him and Jagielka are back to the wall types at their best. I always felt that their partnership, along with Howard, was the reason we conceded so many sloppy goals.

This season is the best they've ever looked IMO.

We have conceeded 7 goals in 3 games and in the 3 clean sheets before it, only Cardiff we looked solid.
As well as Distin and Jagielka play individually they have never looked a good partnership but maybe im setting my standards too high.

Last season only Chelsea, Arsenal, and Man City conceded less goals than us. Not generally the form you'd expect from a centre half pairing who don't make a good partnership.
