Current Affairs How do we tackle terrorism?

Part of the problem is that we have these despicable speakers going into mosques and giving talks inciting hatred. They are all too willing to incite but you won't see them strapping the explosives to their own body. There needs to be the alternative encouraged within these communities, the speaker who tackles the hatred speech with the alternative. Of course you can't stop it completely but more effort needs to be made especially with impressionable young men.

And leave innocent people at the mercy of these people? Also there are people in this world that hate you, the very things you stand for, they don't, they don't want to be your friend, they want you gone. People need to acknowledge this.

..if the answer to this was easy it would've been sorted by now. I believe all religions go through some sort of reformation, albeit after much pain and bloodshed. History tells us this. I just think the solution will ultimately come from the areas of the Middle East where these these people thrive. Good will have to take its course and overcome bad, residents will decide to revolt against the quality of life they and their children have.

I fear outsiders will not extinguish the problem, the right people will overcome the wrong people.

That isn't the cause. It's far more complex than that. We have been bombing or attacking the Middle East and Muslim countries for centuries.

Radical Islam is born of western occupation and destruction of their lands and lives. What happened in Manchester pales in comparison to the carnage our governments have wrought in the Middle East

Countries in the Middle-East, Africa, Asia have been ravaged by the affects of radical Islam as well, it is not born out by Western influence, it is driven by the agenda of follow or die. I understand the wrongs of Western governments but don't think for one minute that this form of extremism has only existed under the guise of Western influence, that simply is not true.

Exactly. Shia mosques and parades, Sufi shrines, various Eastern Christian domination Churches and communities, even moderate Sunni gatherings have all been blown up or attacked by the same sort of person as who did this. Western intervention has made it worse, and they probably wouldn't be as savage as they have been, but it is something that has existed for centuries.
