Current Affairs How do we tackle terrorism?

Christ mate, your talking about a War with a specific country and a war which had a predetermined end to it

BTW during WW2 the democratic process was actually suspended

And now we are talking about a war against a specific ideology. WW2 did not have a predetermined end to it. Your obvious support for ensuring that known fundamentalists and ISIS fighters are allowed to have their freedoms is admirable, admirable and naive. At what point would you agree with me, after 10 bombs, 100, 1000, perhaps a nuclear device. In fact what exactly would you do to stop this, apart from being against other suggestions......

Am I too cynical in thinking 8th June, meant a change in adjective?

Not cynical, just stupid. It's set by an independent body, and I doubt it'd have the slightest impact on an election regardless.

How do you declare war on an ideology mate? whats the battle plan exactly
WW2 did have a predetermined end to it mate, all conventional wars do, if you don't see that then your utterly blind

As for the saying i support known fundamentalists or ISIS fighters, give your [Poor language removed] head a wobble lad, I just value the actual rights that my forefathers fought to actually protect, ie the rule of law and democracy, not just when it suits you to want it and get rid of it when it doesn't suit.

10 bombs, 100, 1000, give it a rest mate, it is one truly horrendous attack, deplorable and evil in it's nature, but you are reacting exactly how the person who killed those people would want, totally throwing away any sense of reason and reacting totally emotively.

Only people to so far detonate a nuclear device BTW are our closest allies, on a city full off civilians

What would i do, hard question obviously, maybe stop bombing the living [Poor language removed] out of Muslim countries for no reason would be a start, maybe not acting like the countries actions have no bearing on anything which happens would be another, maybe a fair foreign policy which doesn't elevate Israel and trod over palestine would be another, maybe more investment in the police and security services would be another

The same question was just asked on 'Newsnight' so, sorry if you think it's stupid but, it's politics and independent bodies never have outside influence do they?
As for the way it affects an election, who's stupid?

Ah the good old Britania at fault for the world's problems line. No wonder Europe is in the dire straits that it is when we've gone along with this false assumption for so long.

Effectively you can't stop this in a modern liberal society, stopping this completely would be to effectively outlaw Islam and it's practise/literature in the country and a ban on migrants from Middle Eastern countries. Effectively Islam would die out over the generations.

In reality in our society the best we could do I would imagine is:

1. Anyone on the suspected terror list or who has links to extremism to be deported or apprehended before it goes too far.

2. Put these Muslim prison gangs in isolation units to stop the radicalisation going on that's rife in our prison system.

3. Initiate some form of compulsory cultural integration programmes with the Muslim communities in the likes of Luton, Bradford etc. Which is difficult and I don't know how it could be done but their needs to be more integration so these fundamental issues are not allowed to fester in those vulnerable to be radicalised.

You do realise that a ban of middle eastern migrants would'nt affect anything.

The majority of the terrorists who have committed these atrocities have been British born.

Yeah, sorry but if you're going to make an assertion on something when you clearly don't understand it, you're well within 'stupid' territory. To save you having to Google it (god forbid), the threat level is set by Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre - they set the threat level, and even the slightest hint of interference by the government would result in such a huge scandal that they wouldn't even bother taking the risk (for no political gain).

So basically, you have no answer, but just decry others suggestions and throw up platitudes......fair enough......

Do you believe that?

The majority of the terrorists who have committed these atrocities have been British born.
Which tells us the doctrine of multiculturalism is at fault.

This is being missed all over the place.
It's over 800 who have gone to Syria and are free to return with the evil flowing through their brains.
Freedom of movement my arse, if you go, then come back, you get held for a bit ?
Sound fair ?
