Why can't some people understand that upsets happen in cup football all the time. Always have and always will. I assume a lot of the posters on this forum are new to football

Hate losing anytime, but our squad depth is worrying. There is a reason why Koeman wanted to bring more players in and this is it. I think this result says more about what we have on our bench than it does our manager. Players put in a decent shift, but it just wasn't good enough.

I can remember in our Championship year 1969/70 going away to Sheffield united 1-0 up at half time not playing that well gettin beat 2-1 -
no debate in those days it was just a positive lets concentrate on the league proved correct we went on to win it!
with the injuries we had that season towards the run in if we had been tied up in the FA cup who knows?
might have won nothing as in the run in we were without harvey, husband and Bally, Captain Labone for a time!

I'm very arsed as it was a competition that gives a European place, and we cannot be picky as we haven't won a thing in over 20 years. To lose a home game against a non Premier League side is criminal. However, it's happen and we have to see how Koeman motivates the squad to bounce back.

Bournemouth away
Palace home
City away
Burnley away
West Ham home

- We must take a minimum of 10 points from those games.

I want a minimum 13 points though think we can get 15.

Need to beat City.

I think we're seeing the real Koeman with this result. If you ignore the last 5 games this game reflects on him very poorly.

Naturally, I'm upset. It's a cup, we haven't won one in (what will be) 22 years, which is far too long.

However, on the grand scheme of things, Chelsea, City, Arsenal, United, Liverpool and Spurs could ALL still be left in, and without trying to sound too pessimistic, I'd expect us to (barring no minor miracle) go out with those left. We're doing very well in the league, which may not be the case come January, so i'd rather prioritise the League now, and have no extra games to contend with, that starts with West Ham, who you'd expect to beat Accrington tonight, and if we've dropped off, we can focus on the FA Cup come January.

Losing last night showed, that whilst we have an excellent set of starting players, we've not quite got a good squad, and we won't with the likes of Cleverley in it.
