Winx's latest win:

Whether or not she needs to run abroad to rubber stamp her credentials is moot imo. I just enjoy watching these storming come-from-behind wins like Zenyatta used to produce.

The markets are shaping up such that Enable looks like she's go off as an odds-on fav in the Arc, which should open the way for some good each-way value to be had on the others.

I managed to get matched for Idaho @ 779-1 and Highland Reel @ 64-1 on the Betfair Ante Post win only market. No idea if they'll run or not, but worth a couple of quid. Nothing else is even close to single figures.

...I went to last years Arc at Chantilly and strongly recommend it. I think it returns to Longchamp next year. Cheap and timely flights from Liverpool to Paris if folk live local.

I'm nipping over to Leopardstown next month. A few days in Dublin and a day at the racing is something to look forward to.

Winter is coming!

Winter gets the same favourable age/sex allowance as Enable, so has to be in contention. Ulysses should be a genuine threat too.

I got a few quid matched at a massive 800-1 on Idaho on the Ante Post market, and it is now 40-1, Already laid off a decent amount to lock in some profit, and think I'll wait to see if I can lay off more in-play, as I reckon it'll be in contention at least.

Frankie gave her a great ride, kept her in prime position throughout the race just off the lead and then once the were in the home straight timed the finishing burst to perfection.

Not the easiest race to make money on, but I find there is usually a way to skin these big races for a bit of money. On this one I found the best value was with "One Foot In Heaven" which most bookies had at 100-1 and paying 4 places @1/5th (so 20-1 on the place), and it was possible to lay the win at 110-140 and then lay top 3 for 14-15 and top 4 for as low as 9, so it was a nice EW arb on both top-3 and top-4 (with the possibility of a huge "extra place" payout if it came exactly 4th).
