Well whatever the ins and outs of this, that Ref did a good job with the actual incident, imo. And yeah, it was the softest of soft pens, but if the initial shove by Holgate was down to that, that needs to be cut right out.

Regardless of how this pans out, the unbelievable nastiness and abuse dished out from many (not all) Liverpool fans (or should i say victims) the last couple of days has honestly made me sick and proper ashamed to share the same City as them. Many have been an absolute disgrace and embarrassment. I remember a time when Blue and Reds stood together shoulder to shoulder no matter what the instance. Them days seem to be long gone now and a generation of real nasty bitter keyboard warriors has emerged in recent years.

He was 16/17. Much more understanding than a 12 year old. However, still, most kids that age wouldn’t think twice about saying the things he said, so it’s just Kopites trying to deflect away from yet another incident of alleged racism at their club. As soon as you hit the public eye, it’s sensible to either delete and make a new account, or go back and delete things. (Which is why I’m always gobsmacked when MPs etc still have stuff come back at them from years ago that they posted) I know I have for my future work, not because I have views I’m ashamed of, but I can’t show my political views and so nothing I’ve said can be misconstrued.
