If it is true, it would be tempting for him. Hopefully the fact that he's on a long contract, and that we would be insane to let him go for the amount being quoted, will mean he'll be around for some time yet. I don't think it's his style to push a transfer himself, at least not to a British club.

If he is looking for international recognition, which he might think he will get from being on the big stage, I can see him wanting to leave before its too late, but he isn't good enough compared to what Spain already have.

And there's no way in the world he will go for anything less than £15-20m if not more

I wouldnt blame him for leaving to be fair. I'd truthfully be quite proud if I saw him in a Champions League final with Arsenal or in the World Cup with the Spanish squad or whoever because he's not going to get that playing for us, lets be honest. Reason being is that even though we couldnt match his potential to play at the top, top level he still stuck by us for years cos his genuinly loves the club.

I'd feel sick as a dog if he went though and it would be a killer blow for any progression made over the years. Id even take part in protests not to let him go haha.

Even if Arteta does want to leave we would probably just price Arsenal out of the deal, just like Villa did to Liverpool. Moyes would demand 18-20 million and Arsenal wouldn't pay that, not a chance.

I reckon that they would pay £15m though ! It will be a sad old day when Mikel leaves our club.

Tell Arsenal we value Arteta more than we ever did Rooney, that it's 28M English pound notes thankyouverymuch, and negotiate from there.

I'm confident he wont leave though. As our leader says: "these boys want to play for this Club. They don’t need to kiss the jersey; they don’t need to do histrionics. They want to play for each other and for the team."

£12m ??? thats an insult for arteta. those smug arrogant bastards, Wenger thinks he can use his team's stature, and probably the lure of more exposure for a spanish call-up to win him over. I just hope mikky was as insulted as i was when he heard that, i really hope he scores 2 against them the next time we play now.

Many many years a go A guy walked across the pitch at Goodison with a banner saying "If Dave(Hickson) goes we all go " gets a standing ovation from the fans a few days later Dave's a Red.the club(Bill) will do what he thinks is best and we the people don't count so Please Bill no sale you know it makes sense (y)
