We shouldn't have to pay anything though. 70p from each person is an awful lot of money. I wouldn't mind it...

It's worse as they don't even need it. That 70p could go elsewhere. I know it would go on something else as equally stupid because that's the nation and the times we live in but still doesn't make it right.

I am not arsed about the 70p, that is pure tokenism really. It is the fact that we should just abolish the Royals for some reason, it seems a bit "cool"

The tourist argument is nothing to me. It is about 1000 years of history. Do away with the Royals and then what?? Nothing. Great, pointless really.

I have no real issue with them existing. I do have an issue with people paying for it when they have untold riches, they can easily sort themselves out without relying on the public for funding.

This fella has a chip on his shoulder and fair play if he made his living elswhere and harboured those views but to shove his wealth in all our faces whilst the woke clap him as some kind of hero is unsavoury.

If I had my way I would freeze his UK assets/bank accounts until he kissed the Kings ring.
