I remember seeing some of the stuff when the king in Thailand died and thinking it was a bit much. Pretty similar over here. Will be interesting to see whether the reaction is the same next time as Charles won't rule for such a long period of time.

…unless you are close to them, we don’t really know that, I expect some care whilst others don’t. Undoubtedly they live in a bubble, largely removed from reality. I’m ambivalent to Royalty, I have no strong feelings for them or against them. I find the British Constitution fascinating.

After 12 years, its this Government that largely generate the problems in the country. That’s were my angst lies.

Its been 70 yrs so this is all new to the admin people, the play book probably hadn't been updated since well before the war...and nobody wants to risk offending the easily outraged...most of the country, or so it seems.

I think it would be a good gesture for the musicians and entertainers of this country - some of them knighted - to go along and keep the crowd of mourners happy while they queue at this time. They could collect for charity while they do it and boost their popularity ratings into the bargain. Just a thought.
