I'm so glad I clicked on this thread @peteblue.

I agree they're all a bunch of jerks. They all made fun of me when Kobe died. You just gotta move on with it, we all develop whatever attachments the rest of the world isn't gonna agree with.

The bit about you being able to see both sides and younger generations aren't is really hilarious. I mean it is grand coming from you, one of the least open minded people I've seen on the internet.

You never waiver when you're so clearly wrong. Keep it going, it's entertaining.

Yea next time your mom dies think of the queen... wtf?

I kind of made that point. Loads of people got really offended by that, which was highly suspicious. Supporting the monarchy means defending nonces it seems.
Of course not, although seeing that Gerry Adams brother was found guilty of sexually abusing his own daughter, i find you portraying royalists as nonces/nonce defenders to be a little bit rich.

He passed away in prison as well, but i'm not going to go down your road by celebrating his death. God will make the final judgement at the end of the day.

Mountbatten was a nonce. Let's not try and make him out to be some hard done to, decent human being.

It was McGuinness who showed class in that instance.
Mate the words Martin McGuinness and class is an oxymoron. It's an absolute total and utter contradiction in terms. I have no more to say on this issue to be quite frank with you.

100% more arsed when Rik Mayall died tbh. Plenty of others too. People that affected my life for the positive. The monarchy never has and probably never will unless they can magic the UK back into the EU.

I feel nothing for her death, it's a curiosity because it hasn't happened in a long time and it's weird and old-worldy.

Should we be respectful to someone who happily took millions of pound to be waited on hand and foot her whole life? Seems odd to me. She did like 5 things though! Right? In those decades. Could have decided to live like a normie and gave all that money to charity. Didn't though. Maybe sell a castle, or two.

As well as being a grandmother/mother the Queen was also a public figure and as such people are going to have views on their role/history/behavior. This is especially true at death when people traditionally consider someones legacy and those views may not always exactly align with your own.

Can I perhaps introduce you this chap who seems to understand that concept?
Now that's some sweet moderating right there.

Delivered with grace and decorum befitting of her Majesty.

Do you know what is an Oxymoron? A supposed Irish man that supports Rangers and prefers Mountbatten to McGuinness and then indulges in classic DUP 'what abouterry'.

McGuinness laid down arms to join a peace process. He put himself in the firing line to bring the hard liners on board. He was a hero.

All very true.

Why is it so hard just to condemn Mountbattens behaviour? Very strange.
