For most, it’s currently a once in a life time thing hence the interest. In reality, it won’t be a once in a life time thing once Charles passes away.
Purely from a historical perspective it's a fascinating watch IMO.
The centuries old ceremony and edicts being followed to the letter is such a strange thing to see in today's world.

William will have a few years yet to prepare and seeing it happen 'live' will be a big guide for him.

I reckon Chas will be a better King than his previous namesakes so we have that to be thankful for I suppose lol

Of the 38 members of the OECD, just 12 have monarchies (and several of those are ours). So 26 countries seem to get by just fine without one. Does the fact that we have one mean we should all be glued to what's happening, despite it having no practical bearing on our lives whatsoever? They're a complete anachronism that have no real practical role anymore, so I'm baffled as to the fuss around them.
