Heitinga as CB/CDM

He's far too immobile for midfield in the PL. He's far too much of a big fart for CB get rid sharpish. I'd let him go on a free and save 3m in wages.

The thing will Johhny is that when he is on form, he is true quality. Don't forget he got our player of the season not that long ago, and when he arrived he was amazing. I think with him a lot is down to attitude and a lot is down to confidence. There is no doubt that a mentally functioning Johnny is an asset to the squad. But if he is a going to be a benchwarmer then 70k a week suggests he needs to go.

I remember the Tough guy John Heitinga shirk a perfectly winnable tackle once, which led to us conceding, and dropping points.

He can go for me, and never too soon. As soon as a player finds it acceptable to bottle it in the Everton jersey, he's done, regardless of how good he thinks he is.

If its the Blackpool game then we didn't drop points as a result, we won that match 5-3.

So people want him to not "bottle" "50/50" challenges?

For the most part when people cry out for that it's the smarter move to not be an absolute mong and jump on people's feet for unnecessary cards. But then again he's now hated, so this will probably get negative reviews and "herp derp but that one tackle herp derp" type of things again.

He wasn't being clever when he missed those challenges against DJ Campbell and Karl Henry. He saw them coming, hesitated and then dropped his arse altogether.

This new role does seem to suit him though, and if it goes wrong it'll give me another opportunity to start referring to him as Ronald Konman. How we'll laugh.

I honestly believe Heitinga just couldn't be arsed at all last year. It was in his mannerisms. I saw no determination to go the extra mile during a game - something that was a trademark of his the two years before that.

Whilst I firmly believe that a focussed Heitinga is a good player, I don't want a player who at any stage during his stint at Everton couldn't be arsed playing for the club.

I think it's best for all parties if he finds a new club. We're covered at centre-half for the season with Alcaraz, Distin and Jagielka, and Heitinga is not the answer for defensive midfield.

A late sale this window for around £5m with a replacement defensive midfielder coming in would be good business.

I personally cant stand the bloke, he is a mercenary ****ehouse. However if we are stuck with him and have to pay his wages and he can motivate himself to play an actually try a bit harder because he wants to put himself in the shop window or its a wc year then play the cnut

You were making sense until that part. We'd be lucky to get more than £2m considering the season he's just had and has less than 12mths on his contract

He's still very highly rated and players go for daft fees near the end of the window. I think £4-5m for a Dutch international defender on the right side of 30 close to the transfer deadline is reasonable. We're in a position of power in that we don't necessarily have to sell as we'd be perfectly happy to keep a player like that in the squad and let him run down his contract rather than lose him for buttons.

When we first signed Johnny and he played a few times in midfield I thought he looked pretty decent charging around getting into players faces and then using the ball pretty intelligently when we had possesion. he had a couple of gash games with I think Neville in the middle with him and that was that.

Still think I owuld rather see him moved on rather than anyone else still though but who knows my opinion could be changed if he plays a stormer this season to get himself one last pay day at the end of his contract with us at the end of season.

We pay him 65k a week so it's better we put him to some use rather than on the bench . If we an use him as an anchor while Gibson out as long as rm doesn't give him defensive responsibility it should be good . He's the only one who's quick enough to pick the ball up from defence and play it to the midfield start him and Fellaini as the two cdm's on Saturday but let Fellaini have a box to box role while he's sits deep

Erm... Yeah?

You don't have to pick up a card to win a 50/50 and either way it's better to get a yellow than concede a goal like against Blackpool.
