I remember the Tough guy John Heitinga shirk a perfectly winnable tackle once, which led to us conceding, and dropping points.
He can go for me, and never too soon. As soon as a player finds it acceptable to bottle it in the Everton jersey, he's done, regardless of how good he thinks he is.
So people want him to not "bottle" "50/50" challenges?
For the most part when people cry out for that it's the smarter move to not be an absolute mong and jump on people's feet for unnecessary cards. But then again he's now hated, so this will probably get negative reviews and "herp derp but that one tackle herp derp" type of things again.
I honestly believe Heitinga just couldn't be arsed at all last year. It was in his mannerisms. I saw no determination to go the extra mile during a game - something that was a trademark of his the two years before that.
Whilst I firmly believe that a focussed Heitinga is a good player, I don't want a player who at any stage during his stint at Everton couldn't be arsed playing for the club.
I think it's best for all parties if he finds a new club. We're covered at centre-half for the season with Alcaraz, Distin and Jagielka, and Heitinga is not the answer for defensive midfield.
A late sale this window for around £5m with a replacement defensive midfielder coming in would be good business.
You were making sense until that part. We'd be lucky to get more than £2m considering the season he's just had and has less than 12mths on his contract
