Transfer Rumour Hayden Hackney

…..I don’t mind Iroegbunam, only turns 23 later this month. We know he has lapses of concentration and can look lethargic but he has terrific athleticism and powers of recovery. They all have their price but he’s a useful player to have around.

Armstrong could be the real deal. I actually seen it as a huge plus when he was asked to play wide because it showed the trust Moyes has in him. He’ll be seen as a CM, I have no doubt about that but he will be asked to do a job for his team at times.
At 23 you want a player to have done what Hackney has done. Stand out and be leading in the charts in their position with a refined role and quality.

It's still an unknown with Tim and you can't afford to keep carrying a player in the hope they'll get there.

….well they’re different types playing in different leagues. I’m not sure Iroegbunam is being ‘carried’, he’s been very decent at times.

Someone tell him they do great parmos in Liverpool

He has been already

I'm not sure a player having 45 minutes of great football at WC are the best targets for us.

The club have had years to identify and to move when the window opens for a RB, so there's no excuses for not securing one.
10 days before the window opens so not sure what your problem is yet.

Also players aren't back until the 1st week July so there is no rush.

…it’s not a ‘bad idea’ at all. You learn so much playing in a different position, he’d played there a little at PNE too. I remember DCL coming into the team and playing out wide, it’s all part of the learning process and tells the manager a lot about your application.

I thought Armstrong coped ok, good players do.
DCL had his best season when he stayed between the posts under Ancelotti as he tended to drift out wide so not sure that makes your point. Not sure what Armstrong learnt other than he can't cross or get to the byline which he probably already knew.

Not sure you can say that Hackney is a known in the PL. Certainly Iroebugnum had success in the Championship at a much younger age.
