He said on his podcast that we had made our presentations to the player and player's side and us discussed personal terms etc. Once accord is reached, THEN the buying club approaches the selling club to negotiate fee.

Apparently that is how most deals are done these days. Not just Bobble I've heard say that either. Pretty normal nowadays.

Because he is at risk of ending up as a "spreadsheet signing".

Young, English and 12 months left of his contract. Meaning clubs can sign him without really wanting or needing him, have him as a squad player for a season or two, and still sell with a profit.

Type Solanke and Ings for Liverpool. Or Liam Delap for Chelsea.

Half the clubs linked with Hackney wouldn't consider him if he wasn't English.

Not many clubs in the league where he can expect to be a starter. Not sure he'll be that at Everton, but it is easier to get minutes for Everton's midfield than 80% of the clubs in the league.

The risk only depends on the fee.

I hear what you're saying about Wharton, but he was a full 4 years younger than Hackney when he moved to the PL, they're not on the same path.

Well he's also not a 6 and they're the only 2 central midfield positions we play. Everyone said KDH wasn't a 10 last summer and then he came in and played there
