Transfer Rumour Hayden Hackney

Even though i like this lad and he would probably be a decent signing, it shows that we are again going into the window with zero plan or strategy. There are far more important positions that need sorting out before this.
I'm not sure I understand, do you think that signings should be made in order of priority? At the end of the day it doesn't matter what order they come in as long as they get done. The Athletic article made it clear which were the main priority positions and CM was one along with RB and out wide.

Yeah Dave that's exactly what I wrote lol , the reason I mentioned Jarred Bowen was to counter your absurd assertion that if a player was 23 and still in the championship it was due to them lacking talent, not that every championship player was skilled as bowen 😂

I didn't link it to age. I linked it to lack of PL interest for anything other than a giveaway for his services.

CM being a ‘priority’ over CB, LB and ST (as well as RB and a winger)???

We’re gonna have the exact same back line as last season aren’t we? Ffs

Another season of Mykolenko

Have you ever watched the lad play mate?

There will be other pl team interested in him, no doubt.

I’d be happy to get him in and see him play for us, agree other positions are a priority but if opportunity knocks you get in there.

Apart from Man United! Part of the cup run.
So it was in that final where Cahill convinced Moyes of his quality?

It was one of the most one-sided finals in history. United beat them in 3rd gear.

Or was it not perhaps the semi where Cahill got the winner, or his 12 goals (all competitions) that season that convinced Moyes to sign him?

I suppose we’ll never know. I’d probably bet it was his performances that season that swung it though.

We've got PL standard central midfielders. It's no good adding to that if you have a manager who cant use them. That just leads to waste and a headache shifting them down the road.

The solution is to sack the manager and bring in a new one; short of that just add to areas where we've got a massive problem: CF and FBs (esp RB).

Players develop at different paces and react differently to different environments. I don't recall anyone showing a modikum of interest for Antoine Semenyo at £10.5m from Bristol City.

There's so much more nuance to football than you like to make out

Cahill shone in that campaign. He had national profile.

Hackney may or may not be ok. Who knows. But this looks like a left field signing that's surplus to our requirements.

Do you trust Moyes to crack the transfer market at that end of the market anymore?

He's grown flabby and doesn't know that end after a decade of spending cash.

But the need a manager who will develop them, that's not Moyes, He even restricted Rooney's game time before Rooney went to United and scored a Champions League hat trick on his debut.
